came home to this- I have been hearing a thumping sound from front end- it has been in shop twice and I spent an hour looking my self- now I know. Let loose in driveway.

I missed this thread when you first posted. That had to be a giant WTF moment when you see your truck like that, and it's just been sitting in your driveway!

Thread risen from the dead. My 2019 just had this happen - driver side. Sitting at supper last night, my alarm was triggered. Fordpass said the inclinometer warning went off (part of the anti-theft). I quickly went outside and saw this. Spring snapped and remainder jumped the shock perch. 63000km on the truck, never offroaded.PXL_20230721_174558112.jpgPXL_20230721_174612106.jpg

That is indeed strange. Did it catch any wiring or hoses?

The spring actually broke. You can see the remaining piece still on the shock collar, just below the "B" sticker. Here is a close up where it shows the point of failure. The main portion of the spring that slipped over was resting on the live valve solenoid wire, but I didn't see any further damage.Screenshot_20230722-073121.png

Why do you put the drivers side up when you change oil?
To Tilt truck to passenger side, oil plug on pass side also to slide my fat a.z.z. under . i Use jack to lift drivers side up place ramp under drivers wheel an lower . Then do my oil change . When i'm done , I back down the ramp . Easiest way for me . My gen 1 is tall enough can do oil change as it sits .
