Unless R1 has changed their process, or attention to detail, I’d steer clear. I had their drilled and slotted rotors on my previous Jeep SRT about 5 years ago and the inset area of the drill and slot where the pad doesn’t contact the surface rusted terrible in no time. Replaced with Brembo and never had an issue, so it was def R1’s quality.

Something that is exclusive to Freedom Motorsports is we have our R1 Concept Carbon Geomets double-coated. You cannot get this online from R1 Concepts. When they make their blanks, the Geomet are coated, then the cut them for drilled or slotted or both and ship them out. We have them coat them again after they are cut. Also R1 Concepts has an economy line of Rotors and their premier quality line. We only sell the Carbon Geomets in our packages. I am sorry that you had a negative experience with your Jeep but I can tell you that we have been selling this package to GEN1 and GEN2 raptor owners for 7 years with no defective rotor to date. You can ask any raptor owner who has OUR kit (not from R1 website) about how good they are. I personally run them on my Raptor and off-road hard with no fade.

We do sell the R1 BBK also that is more in line with Brembo and again, everyone loves them.

Just installed R1 brake kits on two of a friend’s cars.
His front rotors were coated but not the rears for some reason in both kits as well as the replacement rubber hardware was low quality and too firm and nearly all of them were impossible to replace because of it. I would never buy an R1 kit again.

I have run Powerstop kits in the past and have never had any install issues and they always work better than stock.

Rubber hardware, can you elaborate?
Our kits use the R1 Concepts Carbon Geomet that are double coated, it is exclusive to Freedom Motorsports.
We do also sell Powerstop for those customers who request that brand but 99.9% buy our kit for the Raptor trucks. It is the best OEM upgrade option on the market.

The rubber bushes that go through the caliper which the caliper slides on.

thought we are talking about rotors in this thread. Not sure what happened on those calipers that you purchased but we do sell the calipers for the raptors from R1 Concepts and haven't had any issues with them from our customers and I run them myself. You can also get the caliper boot kit at the dealership if your prefer OEM, they are not very expensive.

We are a FRF supporting vendor and if any customer has an issue with the products we sell, we stand behind what we recommend and will make sure any issues are address and taken care of. We wouldn't be here on FRF for as long as we have if we didn't take care of that simple concept.

I’m sure your kits are nice, and are a step above the best R1 Concepts offers. So no attacking or offense to you. But it still doesn’t explain why the front rotors on both my friends kits were coated and perfectly clean after wiping down with parts cleaner while the rears were uncoated bare steel with a thin layer of protective oil on them.
Again, this has nothing to do with your kits. This was a kit purchased from R1 Concepts and not Freedom Motorsports.

Does anyone know how many 4-6 piston brake upgrade kits on the market will work with 17” rims. I like that the R1 kit will work but would like to compare other kits if there are any. Thanks for the 25% off freedom motorsports.

We have sold over a thousand R1 brake kits on FRF and FB since 2012 with rave reviews. For an OEM priced replacement, these are the best out there for our trucks. For the month of April we are offering 25% off, use promo code: FRF202025

You will be happy you got them.

Nice kit. I purchased Ceramic brake pads once for my F150 and I loved them as they were really quiet, great stopping power and no dust, however, they ate through the rotors really fast.

Do the rotors in this kit hold up to life of the ceramic brake pads?

These rotors hold up longer than the pads, hence why we sell the pads separately so you can just replace the pads when needed.
