question on the seats up comment - I was assuming that with the seats down it would dampen some of the road bumps and vibration versus the dog just laying on the floor? No doubt overthinking this

Indeed. Dogs do love this truck. My guy is often even too lazy to stand.

You do get more flat surface to lay down, but you're also limiting acesss to the windows. I went with this as a compromise.
