Blow Through Subwoofer process has begun

Blow-throughs are cool. But they are a full commitment. My buddy had one back in the day with 2 15" DDs ported with over 2500 watts of power. It was ridiculous. But it was also on an '05 F-150 with 13" of lift on 38s. It was a total street queen. I honestly think that it is complete overkill...hell my current system is almost too loud for my current truck and I have 2 12" RE SE's powered by a Sundown SAE-1000D amp in a custom built box under the back seat of my crew cab Titan. In fact, it's so loud, I never turn the gain past 2/3 of the way up. Anyway, I would recommend that you talk with Noah (The Car Stereo Company) and figure out what would be best for you. He is an expert and every single person on here has been pleased with his prices, products, installs, and customer service.

Come on I thought you were an audio guy?? What does anyone with this type of system use it for? For show! I'll take it to a couple shows, maybe even join a few spl comps, show it off at the mud races, just enjoy having it really. If you're not familiar with Rockford's 3Sixty then you should read up on it. Very nice EQ controlled by pc software via bluetooth ( I plan on using my surface pro in the truck, suweet!). You have a remote to the system that changes the EQ to different profiles based on whether your cruising, parked and thumping, or whatever ya like. Any number of subs can be disabled or toned down via the remote for the EQ. There's really no way to chase down this much bass at full crank, don't care how many mids and highs you have. But with the subs toned down for some every day listening, this system will sound incredible, not all thump and vibrate.

I hear every bit of what you're saying. Heck I don't even like it as loud as I use to. Mid life crisis maybe? =) Though it would be fun, and my two boys are really excited and looking forward to it as well. As far as 'The Car Stereo Company' goes, don't think he's thinking outside the box enough for me / or in this case outside the cab Anyways, I have an awesome installer who is already coming up with different ideas for a total in-cab solution and keeping the blow through on the back burner for now. I may have a few HD 1200's and W7's for sale by the end of this. =/ My wife informed me that she would like one of the W7's installed in the new BMW X6 50i I just bought her. Talk about devaluing a truck like a raptor, how would you like to 'rattle' apart a 90k car! Anyways, everything is an option as of right now and there is no hurry. Think the installer is working on door speakers today and probably gonna put my Rigid fog lights in.

Besides doing a blow-through or sacrificing seat space there is only so much you can do with a truck.

Now, I have an idea if you're willing to commit to it and spend the money on it. I'm thinking about a custom center console from the front all the way through to the back with 4 12s in it. Ditch the rear bench seat and buy two more Raptor front seats put them in the back for rear captain's chairs and have a custom painted fiberglass console that runs all the way down the middle.

He only had the stock radio for a week because his in-dash was backordered..and he had to listen to the radio because the stock CD player would skip. It definitely didn't sound ****** in person.

I like the console idea. My installer threw out a similar idea to modify the console to extend further back to case in 2 HD amps and put some 8's under the rear seat.

If I had the old factory style radio (non-touchscreen) I would go after-market as well. I have the newest Ford MyTouch, and while it's not perfect for an audiophile, the rockford 3sixty will tune it out nicely.

I mean if you're going for the loudest possible SPL and want to pound the ground then by all means do it. Don't listen to other people on here that tell you how to mod your truck. Do what you want to do with it, just make sure that you're not sacrificing something you want/need for sound. Personally, I would never sacrifice seating capacity or bed space for audio, which is why I've always stuck to under-seat enclosures. But if you're willing to take all the risks of doing a blow-through, go for it. But as others have mentioned, I do think you'd lose some offroad ability by doing a blow-through. I personally wouldn't jump a truck that had $2000+ of custom audio work in the bed. But that's just me.

You know what I did for the best sound? Turned off the radio and listened to the 6.2 at about 4,000 RPM's hauling ass across the CA desert...nothing better than that sound

i am very familiar with spl competitions, however all the systems i did were never a 4 woofer setup. we normally did 6 or more and take up the whole bed of the truck. we started with 6th order style boxes but then added our twist to them to get more output. i was able to squeeze out 151.1db off a single 13w7. but to stop halfway was really my question
