IMO mid-perch is a must. Looks better and rides better. First mod I did. The Fox racing shocks come with three settings. There are grooves in the shocks and the springs can be moved up or down adding or reducing compression. This also raises or lowers the truck. From the factory the rear is on mid-perch and the front is on low-perch. Most move the front up to match the rear. It levels out the truck and gives it a more comfortable ride.

Exactly what he said only the 2013(I know, and 2012 I think) and above no longer have the ability to go to top perch. There are some people that you read on here who have had issues with the top perch adjustment.

Didn't know that the newer models didn't have the Top-perch notch. Thanks for the info! LOL, I was considering going up. Guess that's not an option.

I believe the new models still have the capability to go top perch. I believe he recommending to stay away from doing the top perch, since it seems like the ones that have gone to the top-perch 13 & above have had issues with front differentials/IWEs, and those models came with electric front locking differentials.

I know on my truck the shock does not have the top perch grove. I am pretty sure that 2013+ do not have the ability to modify the stock shock to top perch. Of course you can get some icon shocks and go to top if ya want.

To clear up a few small thing in this thread.

1. There's no adjustable perch setting for the rear, the rear shocks are not coilovers, therefore there is no perch.

2. 2012 on up Raptors should not go to top perch because it causes problems with the limited slip differential in the front. They should still have the ability (Orange, you might want to check that), it is just highly recommended that you you don't.

3. Adjust your perch on the front shocks to mid perch. Do not use a leveling kit, they throw off angles in the front of these trucks. Forget all about leveling kits and just adjust stock front coilovers.

What I've gathered is the mid perch mod should allow me to mount 37s (I'm leaning towards Goodyears with Kevlar 37x12.5x7) on my stock rims and have no issues with daily driving. I may need to do some minor trimming if I decide to go off road.
