Okay, I’m not going to give you the answers, but if you read the manual that came with the truck, it specifically indicates it takes photographs. Don’t believe me, I just thought I would put it out!

I don't think you're crazy for your concern, but I don't think you did your self any favors by taking the tone of a crazy person to communicate your message.

Yes, those are cameras. Yes, the justification for them being there is for blues clues. Yes, as the manual says, what the camera records could be used against you. It just doesn't need to be said with lots of exclamation points and hysteria. The whole "I know answers but I'm not going to tell you" makes you sound like you're off your rocker.

So since blue cruise isn't a feature, ways to block the camera, or repurpose it for for security, would be rather helpful.

A piece of vinyl that has a pic of you driving your truck on the sticky side (so camera always see you driving properly) would be pretty handy.

the camera is only active during the proceeding 30 seconds of an event.

Too bad they don't warn you of the event 30 seconds ahead of time- instead of filming you while it happens.

Isn’t an easy solution to just cover those 2 areas with black electrical tape? You wouldn’t even notice it and the mod would take all of 5 minutes. Still weird there’s cameras pointing at the driver, but like laptop cameras, just cover them and be done.

There are a ton of investigative tools that are used, which are not public information. Although they are normally employed after a warrant is issued, it doesn’t make them less invasive and most importantly, bad guys use the same techniques. An example that I feel comfortable writing about is the GPS. In the old days we would simply attach a GPS to the undercarriage and hard wire it to the battery. After a couple of years of having the device discovered and the case going to shit, we were taught to hack the OEM GPS, which also transmitted live updates and kept a running log. Another old technique was to wire pin cameras inside the AC vents. However, I know now that the OEM cameras can now be used to live stream. Think of Forscan and also realize people, other than LE, have the ability. As for your hysteria comment, individuals write differently, that was not the intent. I knew people would doubt the information I provided and simply wanted to encourage people to read the information in the manual, probably like you did. I gave you the place to look and you read it for yourself. Therefore, the hysteria you perceived worked!!! There is also a ton of info online that is written by experts in law. I did not anticipate some comments, however like I previously wrote, it is just a PSA.

I looked at your screenshot despite your hysteria, not because of it. And you could have easily ended your last sentence with a period, rather than 3 exclamation points. Obviously, 3 exclamation points is going to be interpreted as stated with a ton of enthusiasm. I'm picturing a guy waving his hands and jumping up and down. Hysteria.

Picture whatever you choose, you took the time to open the manual and read the stuff most people skip. I will not place a smiley face, or clapping hands for fear it will be misinterpreted. Now, you know more than you did yesterday, you’re welcome.
