Haha! I took my truck in to Ford for the 10,000 mile service and they refused to rotate the rears to the front because they were so worn out. I have the ESP up to 100,000 miles, but with a max of 10 services, so I didn't rotate at the 5,000 mile service from a local oil change shop. The fronts still look great.

It was a bit embarrassing because I obviously was enjoying the performance of the vehicle. I went to Discount and upgraded to the 10 ply KO2s. I am hoping these babies last a bit longer, as I don't see my driving style changing anytime soon.

I got 32K on my OEM K02's and was quite happy with that as they had some tread left and I wanted new tires for the winter. My truck is used on and off road.

They were replaced with an identical set of C rated K02s and the new tires are holding up just as well as the first set.

For those of you that have contacted BFG to see about getting a 'tread life warranty claim', who did you contact? Is there an email address? Also, any recommendations of what to say (or what not to say)? I've contacted my local Discount Tire, and they're on my side saying that BFG should give me some sort of discount, and they said they're willing to give me a discount if BFG doesn't (or perhaps give me a bigger discount depending on what BFG says), but they want me to contact BFG first to 'get the ball rolling' so that when the manager contacts BFG they have some ground to work on. I'm just not sure where to start as to who to contact. Thanks!

This is the number I called: 1-877-788-8899

Set up a case number, etc. Tell them the prior KO2s had a mileage warranty (50k, I think), and these do not. They do have a 6 year defect warranty, however. With my 2018 Raptor in service since October of 2017, I was barely 1/3 of the way into the warranty period. Tweak for your facts and say that it is unreasonable for the tires to only last ___ miles in ___ amount of time. They should give you a similar discount to what I got...35%. The biggest issue I had was communication between BFG and the dealer about approving the discount in their systems, but it worked out.

I will say the new, standard KO2s seem to wearing more as I would have expected. I have mentioned this before, and I don't know if it's still true, but the 2017 and 2018 Raptors came with KO2s with a softer compound than what you buy normally...they had an orange dot on them to indicate this. These softer tires were spec'd to allow the suspension to perform as designed and to provide better grip while rock crawling, etc.

The OEM BFGs are indeed pretty soft and give great traction on most surfaces. HOWEVER, if you like to hear them squeal or spin them in the dirt, they WILL wear out quickly. After all the complaints in this thread, mine have 59k miles and are still in decent shape. I do NOT spin the rears for fun. I run 36F/34R cold pressures and rotate @ 5k miles. My Dad was in the tire business for 20+ years and I learned much about tires. I can tell you for SURE that those complaining of wear issues are beating on the tires and any warranty for wear is simply a good-will response from BFG/Michelin.

You may be right, but I doubt my driving habits are 33k miles of tire wear different than yours. If so, I'm not sure why you have a Raptor. Did you have the "orange dot" KO2s on yours as OEM? It is an undisputed fact that BFG dropped the mileage warranty on the KO2s originally spec'd and sold for the Raptor...they were a different, softer compound than what came before, and likely what is bought now when you replace them.

It seems like you totally understand that the K02s that come on the Raptor have a different load rating than 'regular' K02s and thus have no mileage warranty, but for some reason you're expecting them to honor a mileage warranty that doesn't exist.

The tires aren't defective, they just don't last as long as you wish they did because they're not 'off the shelf' K02s. I personally wouldn't feel right demanding compensation for this. Your username is starting to make sense, though.

YMMV...in this case, literally.

As far as what to say when you call BFG, I would start with, "You fu**ing coc* suc**** bastards better give me a new set of tires AND pay for mounting and balancing or I will slam you on the interweb forums!" I find it's always helpful to start with the proper tone, to "set the mood", so to speak.

^^ That's embarrassing. You're going to berate a low level customer service employee to demand replacement of tires that have no mileage warranty?
