Yeah so, it's a strong can either one you choose.
You can't drain it until the engine compartment is warmed up unless you unscrew it in my case, that's all.
The Moroso large can comes with the quick drain but you can unscrew it too.

I've heard of people freezing up the can

Anything that has water in it can and will freeze, like MTF stated, once your engine is running it will defrost, even if it were to freeze, if you maintain it , it shouldn't freeze to the point of breaking, being its using the inlet and outlet as a vent, it will have room to expand , if its over filled and freezes, then that's just lack of maintenance on the owner's behalf.

Is anyone been running one of these in a cold climate? I am considering getting one but the cold chicago climate makes me skeptical.

We had sustained -12F temps here last winter (SW PA) and no issues with the Moroso catch can. Ran one one my previous SRT8 Jeep for a few years with no issues.

I'm thinking of switching to the Moroso setup with the large can and drain valve purely because emptying my JLT can is a headache and I can never unscrew it when installed. I have to disconnect both hoses from the truck and remove the entire assembly. Plus, it doesn't catch all that much.

The RX Performance http://www.revxtreme.com/ is the ones I use on all of my vehicles. The direct injection motor this is a critical component. In the winter months it is incredible the amount of water which looks like brown goo comes out. Summer may get a ounce total of oil every 4k or so on my direct injection 6.2..

Sorry for those that use the JLT. It is total crap lets more get by than it catches by far. It is cheap and performs like it does as well. Do not kid yourself about it working. I have seen it with my own eyes--here is a comparison done. If you check around you will see that the direct engine guys do not care for the jlt that much--and it is for a reason..

Also use the Clean-side Seperator as well. My intake is so clean you would think it was new.....

Ok --- some of you know me and I do not use crap lol. The JLT is better than nothing but not much. The big boys using direct injection run these. Seen tests that the RX unit catches over double the JLT and that is when the JLT is hooked up Before the RX when they are in line.

Do the research RevXtreme - RX Performance Products

It is a no brainer--the ability to catch all of the oil and water (brown goo in the winter) is the difference between life and death of a direct injection motor.

Yep, RX cans are the way to go if you want to catch nearly almost everything. Either them or UPR's new can.

2011-2014 F150 5.0L UPR Single-Valve Billet Catch Can 5030-30

(Yes, I know it says for 5.0. It's just for picture purposes. They have ones for the 6.2 too.)
