AMS is thicker than COBB. Not a problem with stock bumpers, but will inhibit fitment on some aftermarket bumpers.

Feel free to drop us a line if we can help. We carry both COBB and AMS.
A YouTube video claimed that the Cobb will fit without removing fans, do you know if the AMS is the same since it's thicker?

I couldn't answer that one as I've not done. But we always remove the fans on Raptor intercooler installs. Since AMS is thicker, even if it were possible on the COBB unit, I doubt it's possible with AMS.

Ok, thanks.

I've just read about some getting codes after removing fans even if the try to leave it plugged in after removing shutters.

You may get a soft code, but it's not a hard code so it won't throw a CEL.
I'm not sure about that as some have stated that the code they received stopped them from starting the vehicle so I'm assuming it could be a hard code.

To be honest I've only read about this happening to two people.

That sounds correct. We've helped hundreds of customers upgrade intercoolers over the years. With the FMIC, the shutters motor has to stay plugged in and out the way and you won't get a code. And I know COBB has a dummy plug for the fans.

On the 2024+ trucks, you now need the intercooler motor bracket as well or it will throw a code without them.

But on a Gen 2, you should be fine.
