Damn same here.I am happy with my Mishimoto, but if I had it to do over again I would strongly consider CVF.

Having a Labor Day sale?
Discount codes are always niceWe price pretty aggressively so no Labor Day sale (at least this year), but a discount code is definitely available via PM!
An OEM replacement IC is pointless. Save the time and money, get a tune
Maybe on the first dune you climb, but in ‘Qatari heat’, you’ll get one, and only one dune before the charge temp is 75 over ambient and it won’t get better from there. Remember, the Rap uses the same IC as the standard F150 across the platform, so it’s marginal at best. It survives well enough in American spring and fall without issue, but in summer and in our southern states it’s pulling power like mad when you start caning it.
I don’t remember anyone here replacing the IC and complaining of less power. They may not gain you power, but they will keep you from losing power.
Thanks for clearing things up.
Yes I admit after 30 min with desert driving in summer here where ambient temperature is 40C “104F” and above, you can’t stand beside the raptor as the heat comes underneath.
I didn’t say it wouldn’t give a power at all, it will give power but with higher RPM. In my case I think power with lower RPM could be better.
After an hour the PCM keeps the turbos bypass open to save the turbos from damaging and no power at all.
I am not against the idea of bigger intercooler and I may install it to check how does it work over here.
Sure I will give an honest feedback
There are many things incorrect with the above post but let me just say, the stock raptor intercooler is a giant pile of shit. Even a stock raptor you will notice the difference with a better intercooler.I totally agree with your point, it is not only about the air charge temperature, in fluid mechanics; there is something called turbulent flow and laminar flow. When the air is charged into any internal combustion engine it should be turbulent. That turbulent air flow will increase the momentum which creates better heat and and power through the engine. The bigger inter-cooler means less turbulent flow and less power especially in low RPM. That is why we get turbo lag at low RPM with bigger intercooler because there is no turbulent air charge flow.
It is a Raptor, we need the power in the lower RPM to climb the dunes and pick the power as soon as possible.
If we are talking about racing turbo cars then bigger intercooler may work.
