Due to the fact that there was added weight to the truck, (jack, tools, rollcage, gear) it puts even more stress on the shocks. The front end was also leaving the ground probably every 30 seconds. Limit straps were a smart move. Certain things are required to be race legal, and those things add a good amount of weight to a truck.

More weight means more force on rebound as well as compression, the Raptor was designed to operate at a certain weight, race weight is a bit heavier so they put straps on the front to help save the shocks. What is your concern here?

I'd bet they shocks they put on are letting it droop out more than the stock shocks and they are strapping it so the CVs don't bind.

For the record, I was just making an observation.

Did they replace the factory front shock, I thought it was just the springs and the rear shock.

I don't have a concern, I have no horse in this race, I'm not buying the more weight explanation however. @bstoner59 theory seems plausible to me however.

I don't know but I'm thinking maybe. The press material wasn't very clear

Someone in the shatbox said they did, this raises more questions, can the Jen 2 not handle increase in suspension geometry?
