Pep Boys sells Peak brand waffle weave and also the plush drying towels. Very inexpensive and both work great. Get several, it takes a couple to dry the truck. Also Adams detail spray is the best, I use it as I dry, helps prevent streaks and makes it shine. I've ended up throwing all my chamois away. Adams sells great waffle weave too, but they are expensive.

Awesome write up! Thanks a ton for the info! Never heard of spraying it with a detailer while its wet so thats good to know.

Happy to help.

Using a drying agent is one of those small things you can do that yields big results for sure. Once you try it you'll never be able to dry without one again ;)

Just an FYI - we cover both the towels as well as the use of Polymer Detail Spray as a drying aid in the video below. Have a look if you need any other info:

I find that the best towels that actually 'absorb' water are the towels that have been around the block if you know what I mean. I 'borrowed' a towel from a hotel once and it was one of the best towels. Never left a streak.

A new cotton towel absolutely sucks unless it starts out a little damp IMO.

I first use a California water blade to get the majority of the water off, then go back and dry with the 'ex-hotel' cotton towel around the mirrors, handles etc...

You are correct, I should have put that out there. A cotton towel should NOT be used to dry the body panels unless you want the micro scratches as mentioned above. I only use the towel for around the handles and badges etc.

Thanks @RAPTORSV for making that clear for the other readers

I dry my cars and truck with a leaf blower. If you have a good wax it works great.
