Good points, but probably too late for me. I'll see Line X about the wheel wells.

I would think that Ford has to Warranty the liner if it is "factory" installed. Not too
worried about fading. I have a Rollbak on order as well.

Isn't thickness based on the installer and how many coats he wants to spray?

Probably not the best option, here's why:

Factory Bedliner:
Thickness is about 65 mils on the floor, aromatic (will fade), 3 year/36K warranty, dealer can't fix it.

Aftermarket (I'll use LINE-X as an example): Thickness is at least 125 mils on the floor, aromatic or aliphatic (won't fade) is available, lifetime warranty, any LINE-X dealer can fix it.

Not in my example. The factory bedliner is applied robotically and LINE-X dealers are supposed to apply at least 125 mils (per their franchise agreement). By the way, if the factory bedliner needs a repair, who do you think is going to fix it? Probably a LINE-X or Rhino dealer.

Want to watch a vid of the Ford bedliner being applied? Here you go:

Thanks, watched the Video - then watched a LineX install video. Seems the LineX one
is way more dependant on humans - more chance of an error. Both look good.

Interestingly:

Just like in the video, LINE-X dealers have gauges that measure thickness. Those fun little gauges cost about $800.

Also, just like in the video, most dealers use Graco branded equipment, but it the machinery is obviously different.
