Have had the VP installed for two weeks now. So far very happy. It sits flush, looks clean without the seams and was easy to install.

One hiccup. The first one I received was damaged. Box was fine, just looked like the track got smashed at the factory before it got packaged. Received the replacement and all was well.

I will treat it once per month with 303 and that should provide for a long life.

I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

I can close my tailgate with the F1 down with no problems. It says not to, but it doesn't harm anything, in my experience.

Don't mean to steal the thread but what is wrong with the bakbox?
The reason I was going to go with the bakflip was because it had the bakbox. Otherwise I would go with the undercover flex.

I've used the G2 for over 2 years with no problems, bought the F1 for the Raptor since we do have hail in Texas...

I rarely comment here for some reason but thought I would this time. I have the VP and LOVE it. No complaints and the vinyl look is classy looking. Never had an issue with leaking and I go thru automatic car washes weekly. I'd buy it again.

Like the F1 with one exception. The d-ring hardware on the front has rusted and looks like shit. Functionally it's been pretty good for the last 3 years.

Some observations I have regarding the Bakflip. This is my second Bakflip the first one I had on my 09 FX4 and it was the CS Contractor Series not sure if the F1 was available or included with the CS at the time. My observations are mostly the same as I have read. My d ring/eyelets also rusted, I had two dozen hail dents and there was metal shavings include at no extra charge. As for opening and closing the tail gate with the top down was not a big problem as I think the weather seal had taken a set and barely interfered with the closing of the tailgate. Typically I always opened the Bakflip before I shut the tailgate however there were many times others have closed the tailgate not knowing the procedure. Also I have occasionally had the Bakflip weather seal freeze to the top of my tailgate when a rain than freeze condition existed and I would have to defrost it before I could open the tailgate, which the first time it happened it was a PITA. However I don’t blame BAK for that issue. With that said functionally I had no problems with the Bakflip and I do not have excessive water leaks. For my second Bakflip I got the F1 CS about four months ago my observations on the F1 are minimal at this time as its very new. I did receive free metal shavings again and just recently I have had the weather seal freeze to the tailgate. I have not had any issues with excessive water leaking. All in all I am happy with my Backflip’s I purchased just my two cents worth.

Haven't noticed the rust issues yet, but I did get the freezing issue for the first time last week.. Not BAK's fault, but still a pain in the ass!
