I'm a Baja Designs and Rigid Dealer. We stock both products however we stock MORE Baja then Rigid... in fact we stock more inventory then most distributors I reckon. And for good reason. We've found Baja is far superior then Rigid. Yes, rigid DOES make a really fine/quality light, don't get me wrong. BUT Baja just offers WAY more features and more light from the same size housings. The ability to swap lenses is HUGE as well as the ability to change bezels on the fly (we also stock bezels).
I've also done side by side comparisons with Rigid vs. Baja in reverse. I had a set of Rigid D-Series Wide Beam lights in my bumper and swapped them out for some Baja Squadron Pro Work/Scenes. The work/scene just lights up a lot more then the Rigids did. I'll get even more light pattern out of wide cornering, but i was testing out the work/scene (wide cornering is good to throw a nice wide pattern where work/scene is good to just flood an area up close with light)
Here is that comparison. You can see how the Rigid Dually D2 Wide Beam does have a lot of light, but it's focused light (odd for a WIDE BEAM light). It's not quite a SPOT light, it's got a larger pattern over a spot, but not ideal for reverse.
Then look at the Squadron Pro Work/Scene. It's got a VERY tiny hot spot you can see and then the rest is just flooded with nice light, uniform light. These photos have the exposure locked in as well. You can see how a baja work/scene just lights up the ENTIRE area whereas the Rigid focuses that light... now if i do a baja wide cornering i'll have a nice wide pattern... and you can do that, you can just swap out the baja lens with a different one. Try doing that with Rigid.
So THAT'S why I feel Baja is just a better light. Made in the USA with over 60% USA-source parts. Rigid is not "made in america" it's "assembled in america". So there's a difference as well. I don't know how much, if any, of rigids component are sourced from american factories.
Still, Rigid is a great product, but Baja is just better in my eyes.
