Howdy!

Debating between Backflip MX4 and Dimondback SE.
I really like the Dimondback but it's $2K, MX4 is only half of that.
What's you guys opinion or experiences with these two covers?

I have the Lomax. Works great and easily removable if you need the entire bed space available. The Line-X sales guy where I bought it steered me away from the Backflip. he said quality has been slipping. (FWIW)

Thanks Ben! I was watching a lot of MX4 reviews, and was not impressed with the quality. DB SE is more reliable but the price is the only problem. Did you get form the Line-x shop?

I have the HD…. I can’t be happier. I actually bought the mx4 first and canceled before it shipped. The diamond back looks awesome. Now if you need the entire bed the DD is not it however…. Don’t forget you can strap stuff on top of it too. I put mulch on top instead of inside… furniture… put on top… if I had to do it again…. I would.

I have the HD as well. You can still take the cover off if you absolutely need to. its been a few years and i just took it off to pressure wash all the mud/dirt that got into my bed from the "puddles" I drove thru in WY a few weeks back. easy enough to do by myself. and like @osprey6 said, can just haul stuff on top if you need

I’ve actually had the bakflip on the last two trucks and have had 0 issues here in the SW. Still looks great, however, when hauling I don’t enjoy it folded up against back window. Moving forward - probably go something different (Retrax).

You have an $80K-$100K truck, get the cover you want based on functionality. MX4 is great if you need frequent access to the full bed, Diamond back is great for security and capacity to be loaded on top of bed cover.

On my second bakflip. Only reason I got rid of first was hail damaged. Actually moved that one from my 2013 to my 2018. Never had any problems.

We recently put a BakFlip Mx4 on my wife's Ram 2500 and the end pieces already broke off. However it is covered under warranty just haven't had the time to take it in. I also had one on my 2017 Lariat and transfered it over to my Raptor. It faded pretty bad from the sun, Bakflip covered it under warranyt almost 5 years later. So while not the best maybe, they do have a good warranty. I like the low profile of the Bakflips.
