Didn't know about the 7500 mile thing, but I know if you bring in vehicle out of state you'll need to register and pay CA sales tax, they just want their money. They dont' give a crap where u buy, it can come from Russia. I had military friends with Oregon plates and they were able to get away with it for few years but eventually had to change registration. Local dealer also told me that IF... you buy out of state, take delivery there to drive back, you will need to pay taxes there for that state, then when u come into CA to register, pay taxes here again. I originally was willing to make family road trip out of it, but then again depends on where , how long and time. I can run my company remotely, but not sure wife and kids can handle the drive. Anyways, I'm in mindset of 405 Realtor, not as concerned about color I'm going to wrap it as marketing expense anyways. Time is money.

To clarify a little, one would have to pay taxes in the state purchased and when registering in CA (it goes by zip code) pay your local taxes IF there is a difference. Not necessarily pay taxes in one place and AGAIN in another. So for example purchase in AZ at 5% tax rate, register in CA with an 8% tax rate, you’d still owe the difference of 3%. On the flip side if you purchased in a state with a higher tax rate you’d get a refund. I purchased my last 2 vehicles out of state and my first one ended up with a refund because the state I purchased from taxed me CA local tax rate to make it easier for me but was slightly over so I ended up getting a check for a few bucks. CA also does not offer a trade in credit. You pay taxes on the full sale amount of the truck not the difference between your trade and the remaining balance.

List of deposits at local dealers, starting markup was 10k with some asking to jump the line for 15k. This is southern California specifically. 1 landed so far at nearest dealer and was sold while it was still being unloaded from the truck. Lots of people simply can afford it here. I would recommend shopping further out if you can.

MSRP, plus the cost of a trip to CO to pick it up. Most AZ dealerships wanted $15-$25K market adjustments or ran out of allocations before I ordered in July.

Got a call from an ABQ area dealer offering me a sweet LDF 35 for 10k over and telling me it’s the cheapest in the Southwest :33::33:
Abq dealers are morons. power Ford in abq has 5 new Gen 3s and all are 20k over. I laughed and said no thanks
