I want a radar detector installed using roof console auxiliary switch for on/off. I want the wire hidden and ability to turn on and off easily. Anyone do this? Any advice on type of installer? Do not want them experimenting by ripping apart console. I have 2024 raptor 37. Thanks for any input

Looking for same thing here. But looking custom, like front detector in grill and rear wherever inside/outside and unit mounted nicely inside. Not a suction cup on the windshield if ya know what I mean. Heck one ticket would pay for it....2017 here with 50k on her.

I just use Waze with apple car play….lol. Serious question, are radar detectors really still a thing especially with laser and all the new #$*&? I’ve had radar detectors in my past a while ago and they never really saved me….still got tickets.

Are you talking like a 'e s c o r t' (not sure why that word gets sensored) max CI 360 where you integrate the sensors into the vehicle or an all in one unit that you just hang off your windshield?

Waze is cool if you want to depend on other people. I not talking I5 i'm talking foothills of CA. and country/county roads that are grazing land. Not alot of waze users there but a lot of county sheriff and local pd crusin or sitting. Yep same as scanners new technology and all can they really detect it? Yea my ol uniden saved me many a tickets back in the days.

REDLINE Ci 360c maybe

After tons of reading and head scratching, and not much if any experience doing this kind of stuff, I hard wired my Uniden R8 to Aux 6 into my 2024 Raptor.

In short:
- buy a hard wire kit (I didn’t use Uniden, I used a blendmount RJ11 kit)
- connect wires under hood for Aux 6 (hot wire to aux 6 pass through wire)
- route hard wire kit from radar detector up through mirror shroud and headline and and down pillar to passenger fuse box (I didn’t remove any mirror components or pull out anything for this, except fuse box)..so many posts people are taking off mirror pieces etc, you don’t have to if you aren’t comfortable
- connect radar hard wire positive to the Aux 6 pass through
- attach hard wire ground wire
- voila

Some additional detail were to use butt splices with built in heat shrink and a crimper and heat gun (I watched some tutorials online and did it no problem). Fuse box…I took off the side vent panel which it just popped off and the other piece by the fuse box for the hard wire. Trust me, I didn’t want to touch my new truck, but, it’s easy.

Everything works perfectly, now I can turn off my radar if it’s annoying or if I simple want it off for any reason.

Reach out if you have any questions, I’m a layperson so it won’t be complicated answers :)
