AutotecPro 14.4" Screen - Install and Tech Thread

Was wondering if anyone else here has had the popping noise issue in music apps when pausing a song or changing to a different music app. I also get it when hanging up on a phone call. Always happens about a second and a half later after whatever I was listening to stops. If any of you have had this, did a software update fix it or am I looking at returning the unit? Connections are all good.

I'm thinking about returning this unit to the Amazon seller and just get it from autotec for better customer support. I'm sure this isn't normal and the Amazon seller kirinavi hasn't given me any kind of solutions.

It's a long shot, but it may be a loose connection. These units are EXTREMELY sensitive to connection of the plugs on the back. If they aren't seated just right, it can cause all kinds of weird problem. Might want to double check them before packing it all up and sending it back.

Anyone know how to install it? Link to video?

Edit: Download the "update_e.zip" file and copy to USB drive (DO NOT UNZIP!), put USB drive with the "update_e.zip" folder on it into one of the USB ports from the unit and the update page should automatically appear.

Easy. Do you know how to do split screen on the unit? Easiest way is to open the 2 apps you want to split. Now bring up the app you want ON TOP - fyi the console app sucks on top as it gets cut off, put it on the bottom for best results... So, have the app you want on top open, long press the bottom right icon, the one that lets you cycle between apps, and then choose the second app, it will then be placed on the bottom.

Unfortunately this is not working, says app isn’t compatible with split screen. After doing some reading in the f150 forums it looks like the android 13 newer units are not allowing some apps to split screen. Just my luck literally was the one feature that sold me on buying the thing. Also has a mind of its own on startup on whether it’s going to use console or go to the Home Screen. Dsp fader/balancer doesn’t work correctly and only works one way can’t remember which but one doesn’t function. WiFi starts off every time. Hopefully these are quirks that can be remedied because I do like the unit.

Hmmm.... Looks like your "Console" (aka Sync) isn't firing up. I would use a paperclip and push the RES (reset) button on the front left side of the screen. See if that helps.
