The Pop and Lock is a little expensive, but I believe it is built very well and will last a long time.
Now that I solved my situation, I would highly recommend this product.
It should take about 2 hours or less if you rush it, to install completely from start to finish.
I'm a Pro at this now! :) Installing at least.

There are other F-150 out there that could not get the tailgate locks working,
be it Pop and Lock, Pace Edwards and DynoLock working either, this isn’t only Raptors!

So I would say if the wires do not work, then your alarm is not setup correctly even though it works fine
like mine did until I tried to add something.

Just to add: The alarm was installed correctly just not setup correctly.

I also want to tell everybody that Audiovox want's me to go back to the installer and
they will get the key fob working correctly with the Pace Edwards Electric BedLocker as well!!!
Using the #1 to open and #2 to close.

Then I will be as happy as a pig in _ _ _ _. :)

MTF, Just so I get this straight.
You have a Ford/Audiovox alarm which was installed at the dealership. Not factory installed.
You wanted to control the electric bed cover and the tailgate lock with the remote.
You discovered that the alarm was set up incorrectly.
You are now an expert on this subject. (not being sarcastic)

To sum things up. Is it your opinion that someone with a factory (installed) alarm would have little trouble setting up an electric tailgate lock. It just seemed so simple before I started following your posts.

Yea me to, I researched everything and bought the BedLocker in december 2010 and then started this thread to find out a way to automate the Tailgate. I started with the Pace Edwards Lock only to find out that it does not bolt on a Tailgate with a key Lock and rear camera. Pace Edwards updated that page.

Do not quote me on this but my understanding is alarms do not get installed at the factory this is a dealer item there are too many variables and options out there just to install one type of alarm.

Actually if you look at your invoice you will see the charge for the alarm if it was installed in the factory it would just be included in the sticker price. Again I could be wrong, it would not be the first time.

The Ford Factory Alarms are designed by Ford and built by Audiovox when they swapped out my alarm they had to write down the serial numbers what for I do not know. I will ask them when I go back.

I am dealing with a Authorized Ford alarm installer this is not an alarm shop. I really had to pull alot of teeth with the owner just to ask him one question. I guess he to felt pity for me because I could not get anythihg working.
He's also not happy about this thread I guess dealers would get upset if starts doing work on the side.
This is why Audiovox wants me to go back to him and get this key fob worked out.

I know this thread is big but I have a picture of the unit under the dash.

Gentlemen, I want to formally apologize for holding everybody up on purchasing and installing the Pop and lock model #PL8250.
I especially want to apologize to Pop and Lock for holding up sales for about a month.

In my defense, I could have not known that my alarm was not setup correctly,
so when I tried the correct wires on the passenger side it did not work.
I could have solved this on 8/22/2011 when I tried those wires, please check out the post at the bottom of the post.
The guy with the 2010 Harley Davidson.
I did not post anything because it did not work.http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f12/automatic-tailgate-lock-1050/#post60572
It was probably earlier because I always edit to change my spelling, bad grammar and layout of sentences.
Not that they are perfect now either.

Also in my defense, Pop and Lock does not have the right color codes printed in the instruction for the 2010 and 2011 Super Cab or Crew Raptors and probably other F-150s. And they did not know what the right colors were, they at least had the correct side.

So I am glad I got fed up with this whole fiasco and decided to go to the
Authorized Ford Factory Alarm Installer to get this working
and to get the Pace Edwards BedLocker working as well(this is not finished either I have to go back)

They found and corrected the alarm from positive door pulse to negative door pulse.

It’s a shame that I had to cough up more money, but I feel it was money well spent.

I finished the install after work this afternoon I have pictures and comments.

I ran the wires from the tailgate through the frame rail to the hole in the back of the doorsill with the blank grommet. It takes a little effort this will increase install time. Oh and do yourself a favor, tape the loom up every foot or so! the wires pop out easily and very hard to get back in when your under the truck.

I cut a small slit into the center of the grommet so all I had to do is squeeze it so a small hole appeared and pulled the wires through it.
The grommet is soft and thick enough that it sealed around the wires there is no need to silicone. Unless you go crazy with that small slit, I poke at it a little at a time.

I ran the wires through the factory tape in the channel to keep it nice and clean.
I attached the wires Blue to Light Blue with Green stripe and Brown to Gray with Brown stripe just to keep it simple.
Don't worry I clean that up.

Mr. dew.man said he had a pair of these colored wires in his Super Crew truck.
I could only find these two wires in my Super Cab truck in the passenger side.

Now I will jump to the back.
When I plug the wires from the actuator to the wires from the front of the truck using the the plugs it worked in reverse the picture explains why.

DSC08756.jpg

The wires are not attached right to the plugs and since this is as far as I could get them together with out using pliers.
I just cut both plugs off and wired it correctly. I taped everything up and left enough loom to cover everything.
I had about five feet of wiring too much so I pulled up the slack back into the Tailgate just in case I needed to take the tailgate off.
I will never take the tailgate off on purpose.
And That's it.

Oh and while your down there under the spare take a look at your Trailer Hookup,
Ford did a crappy job at taping where the wires go into the plug it was full of dirt, I cleaned it out and used about a half a roll of tape covering up the little release tab as well.
