No way they can sell the truck without disclosing that. Lawsuit waiting to happen.

I’d love to know what should be disclosed as this is a gray area. I have a dealer near me whose bread and butter is buying Canadian cars, lemons that have been fixed and those with accident histories. I rolled in the lot one day and saw 2 MachE’s for sale in the used section. Both had less than 100 miles. I searched the vin’s and they both came back to a dealer in NJ. I called the dealer and spoke to the GM about the cars and it turned out they were both severely hailed damaged, fixed and then given back to Ford who the sold to this dealer. No mention of hail damage in any carfax or any other reporting agency.

Wonder what the legality is of selling a truck with $7K worth of repaired damage as "new" is.

Guaranteed that truck driver faces no consequence for this. Our society is moving towards consequence-less-ness.

I think it will be the common dealer scam. The dealer that own/damaged the damaged truck repairs then sells it to another dealer, that dealer sells it to a customer. If the customer finds out about the repair, and goes after the dealer he bought it from. That dealer says they know nothing about any damage, they bought it from dealer B. Then you go after dealer B and they say they sold it “as is” and go back to the dealer you purchased from.

My dealer called me this morning with exciting news, they could see that my Raptor was finally enroute to my dealer in Northern Indiana after sitting in Flatrock for almost two months and said it will be here in the late morning. Super excited, I get a call about noView attachment 397835View attachment 397836on and am told the guy taking it off the carrier did extensive damage to the RF wheel and tire, fender flare, both doors and RR cab corner. Then also somehow manages to tear up the drivers side outside door handle also.
Dealer is saying bed has to come off to get to the cab corner, remove rear glass and both doors, remove and replace drip rail and after body damage repaint entire right side of truck. They also will have to strip the bedliner out and re-coat to get to the bed bolts.

I'm just sick. Waiting for Ford's response but in dealers past experience Ford will just say fix it. I said I have no interest in buying a truck with $7K (and likely more) damage. Dealer is apologetic but nothing they can do. Ford apparently got rid of a bunch of zone reps 6 plus months ago and there isnt even anyone to appeal the decision to if they decide to fix. Obviously I can walk away but then I am at day 1 and the dealer has no more 2023 allocations. I have to think they will push to fix rather than replace but I cant have a brand new vehicle with $7000 of damage and knowing there is no way the paint is ever going to be as good as the factory,

This really sucks.

What a nightmare situation. So sorry you’re going through this. I agree. I would not even think of taking it. Someone up the chain has got to help!!!

The transport driver damaged my rapid red but just front bumper and brackets behind an it was a mess to get straight, sorry you’re in a no win situation. But with inventory levels coming back up hopefully you’ll find another one.

I know your pain. I had a powerboost platinum ordered, and when it came in....the yard folks at the CSX yard dropped it. Front bumper ruined, truck was totaled. Ford corporate made it right. Ford dealers have an order code for use only when a customers truck is damaged in transit. 86 days later I had a Raptor.

I always wondered about this as damages from transit happen more frequently than we think. The good old dealership special order code to the rescue!

Just curious as to why OPs pictures look like the truck was off road?!? Dirt all over front tire, wheel well, and side step? Looks more like the guy took it for a joy ride than just trailering it to the dealership.

I can only guess it was from sitting for two months in Flat Rock but yes, I was not impressed with the shape it was in as delivered, MINUS the damage. LOL
