You guys are going to have a blast, I am defiantly jealous. So who's the lucky ones? If you can tell. Ps make sure your air is working and lots of extra water.

I'll put the list up when
I get home.

Stupid question. Why only 10? Is it because i have the week off?

Because we can't pre-run the trails. 10 participants and 3 support trucks will be hard enough to turn around on the trails or at hazards. Plus, more trucks equal more potential headaches/ problems. Also, the smaller groups tend to make better runs, especially when you've got a kick ass group of people!

Not a stupid question. This is a run where we don't know a lot about the area only the research we've done. As RW stated, we won't be able to pre run the trails. So there is a high chance that the team will have to do a 180 on the trail and the support trucks will have to figure an alternate route. We'd love to have 20 trucks, but can't do it.

This is also on the main differences between a GLRE or Raptor Expeditions runs and a home grown run like this. They have the resources to pre run and provide a much more to the participant.
Whereas this run is just us getting together and looking for an adventure where some patients and a great attitude goes a long way.

Adversity comes on any run, so we try to minimize risk by a lower number of trucks.

The good news is once the do the run well have a gps cordnece. Would make a good thread if a mod would keep the crap out of it. Would need two threads one to talk one to post gps. Maybe it could be like the for sale thread you have to be at 100 posts or supporting member to see it, and put up the gps.

Cause 10 is what we chose.

It's worked well for us before.

I'm not going to be a broken record to YJ & RW. I Agee with the rest they said.

We also don't have a business or aim to profit from night raptor runs. Anything left after the cost of placards , shirts , etc gets donated to the park service or similar organization.

If we allow more trucks then legality issues and land usage comes into play and costs for participants double - triple after Uncle Sam wants his cut of everything.

We don't want to get involved with all that.

Also with this type of event we try to keep spacing closer as we don't know what we will encounter.

If we let 20 trucks, we're spaced out 10-15 miles and with dense forest we can be outside of radio communication which is never good.

Routes pre-planned but not pre-run so issues have to be dealt with on the fly.
