Are you going to upgrade to a Gen 2?

I will keep my 2014 V8. You can have the V6. Will Rousch do a 590HP conversion for the ecoboost, doubt it.

Will not buy a gen 2. Don't care for the styling inside or outside. Still undecided about how I feel about the ecoboost engine and a 10 speed transmission. In addition, I expect a fairly significant price increase.

The current EcoBoost has more torque sooner than our 6.2L. Also, it's the same engine that's going in the new Ford GT. If it's the exact same motor, it's already going to be tuned for 600hp for the GT and if it's anything like Ford's previous performance engines it will be built like a tank and will be able to handle a ton of boost. I could easily see the new 3.5L EcoBoost putting out 600rwhp on the new Raptor with just a tune and exhaust.

Saying that, I won't be upgrading. I like mine and there isn't anything that really makes me want the new one.

The EcoBoost is impressive on paper but that's what forced induction will give you. I think you'll be dissapointed if you're expecting a tune and exhaust will give you what the GT puts out. It probably has bigger turbos on it or something, cause if a tune will give you an extra 150 horses then either the GT owners are getting ripped off or the Raptor owners are getting the best deal ever.

To me the EcoBoost sacrifices its soul trying to squeeze out a few more HP than the 6.2L. I know you know what I'm talking about when I say it still brings a smile to my face when I hear that 6.2 roar to life, even more so now with the Corsa Xtreme on it. I intentionally turn down my music whenever I have to accelerate away from a light. You'll never get that feeling with the EcoBoost, you lose a lot of the emotional component of driving.

I vote no but, the power to weight ratio could be a plus in the Glamis sand dunes. I am going to wait for the 19' for positive reviews on dependability before pulling the trigger. I'm batting 1000% on all my odd number year vehicle and firearm purchases. Knock on fiberglass and walnut...

I'm sure the styling will grow on me but not sure if the V6 will...when it comes down to it there is no substitution for displacement. Ford should have rebuilt a V8 that's lighter, more fuel efficient and more powerful.

Not against V6s I had a tricked out 06 G35 with Crawford highflow cats, Greddy Evo catback exhaust with an Xpipe, plenum spacer, new lower intake manifold and JWT intake and it sounded great....but it sounded great coming out of a car....not out of a truck...nothing beats that V8 rumble. I would rather have a slower mean ass sounding v8 raptor than a faster crappy sounding V6.

I'm not just hating bc I have the older model...if they offered an 8 I would more than likely buy the third year model.

I'm not liking the toyota styling cues. I'll keep my 13 and start saving now for the ford gt! now that will be money well spent!
