i tried using a CTEK battery tender on my Raptor & couldn’t get it to recognize the truck or show any sign of voltage?

I have 2 of these CTEK chargers one goes back & forth between Atv/waverunner & another for my vette. Also use em to charge up the battery for my riding mower before putting it into winter storage.....so needless to say they def work, whether it’s through the cigarette lighter, pigtail terminal connector that you leave on like for my waverunner or the basic alligator clips on the actual battery.

I tried plugging it in through all of the cig style power outlets (this is how I charge my vette) & used the clips on the battery itself- no signal.

Am I coming something wrong?

I will say- haven’t had a new Ford...ever, last I had we’re beater Ford Rangers ‘89 & ‘98 model years lol but the battery in the raptor seems very high quality but also has a helluva lot more ancillary stuff connected to it already which I don’t get.

ANy insight is appreciated.

Oh- and only reason I was trying to get it hooked onto a tender was just as added precaution while first loading a tune.

Ok but shouldn’t it be able to trickle charge through the cig lighter like my vette?

FYI, I have four Deltran Battery Tenders. I have pigtails connected directly to the batteries of my Raptor, motorcycles, and riding lawnmower, and the Battery Tenders charge them all without issue.

Don't go through the cigarette lighter outlet. Go directly to the battery with the tender.

no. raptor cig plug is switched and turns off after an hour......so....the charge would be connected to an open circuit...thus...never trickle

Same here. Normally, I have anywhere from 4 to 8 vehicles hooked up to two (2) 4 bank Deltran tenders. Never had a problem using either the alligator clips or pigtale ends, connected directly to the battery terminals. Keeping them maintained when not in use, really does help the longevity of the battery.

I've used CTEK's for many years now, and have used a 7002 & 4.3 on the Raptor with 0 problems. Used the alligator clips directly on the + & -.
