I have a Malibu 21 VLX. I got it on a CAT scale last year and boat, full tank of gas, and trailer was just shy of 6k lbs. Maybe I need to adjust my drop hitch a bit, cause I wasn't totally happy with the feel of the boat behind me. The boat appeared level when I set it up but the trailer wanted to get a little loose at times. I know this can happen if the hitch is sitting too high so I might mess with it and see if dropping it down one on my drop hitch helps.

Sharp looking setup. I took a quick look and I'm probably a couple hundred pounds heavier for the boat and fuel. They always say a dual axle trailer is around 1500 lbs. But your numbers says the trailer could be less than 1500 lbs.

Well I towed my 2022 Malibu 25lsv with my 2019 Raptor. The boat is on a triple and it did sag the rear, but if you go slow and don’t got far it’s tolerable. I just picked up a 2023 Raptor Saturday so I’ll report back on whether it’s any better when the temp hits 70 on a weekend!

Out of curiosity, what does everyone get for mileage towing? Little sled trailer over mountain passes and such seems to average 12.5mpg. Same drive with just a sled in the bed and it averages 16.

1500 is what I always guesstimated the trailer weighing. My boat is 4000 lbs dry weight with a 48 gallon tank. The number I don't know for sure that I would like to is the actual tongue weight.

Maybe 1500 lbs works for the trailer. I Googled the wrong specs for your boat. My boat is 4800 lbs dry and 47 gal tank.
Just found a chart from MC that says the trailer for my boat weighs 1470 and combined weight should be 6,568 lbs. That looks like a wet weight with f.o.g., fuel , oil , grease.

I would recommend getting some Rock Tamers or at least mud flaps so you don't ruin the gel coat on your boat. The tires on these trucks throw a bunch of rocks.

While there’s a lot of similarities to the gen2 & gen3, this is a topic where gen2 owners like myself should be more of casual observers curious to see how the gen3 can tow vs actual participants.

I can tell ya how my Gen2 tows a dual Yamaha waverunner trailer (2500-3000 lbs) or a utility trailer weighing 4000-4500 lbs on stock suspension setup (no idea on tongue weight on either setup ain’t that much but truck tows both like they’re almost not there & only sags to about level still w/ 42k on the clock) - BUT it’s kinda irrelevant b/c aside from interior updates the biggest change in the gen3 from the gen2 is the rear suspension setup & increase of available TQ in lower gears on factory tune.

I keep seeing gen2 guys, not even stock, w/ tunes & aftermarket leaf springs & WDH’s commenting & I don’t see the relevance.

What I am curious about is, are there any gen3 guys running aftermarket springs for the rear?! If there’s a good option for a stiffer read coil that does the same thing as a deaver +3/4HD setup on a gen2 in terms of increasing payload & reducing sag while enabling a slight lift in ride height, im very interested.

I’ll probably get a gen3 over the next few years regardless but aftermarket options w/ the suspension may push me to do it sooner

There are plenty of rear spring options now through Geiser/Eibach and alike. Also, number of companies making pre-load spacers to help as well. In my towing experience the G3 still sags as the rear progressive springs are quite soft in their initial rate. My 14ft Aluma trailer and Can Am X3 weighs about 3,000-3,500 and I was surprised I got a solid 1.5" of squat with it assuming the 10-15% tongue weight rule. It towed amazing being that's little weight but still the squat is prevalent. Bad as the Gen2, hard to say but I don't think it's any better overall.

My concern is come spring I pull around my Nash 23D and it's about 6,500lb ready to camp and that's a good 700+ lbs of tongue weight. I'm likely going to try the Airlift 1000HD setup for the Ram 1500 being the sizing is almost identical and more than a few people have proven good results with it. For $150 it's worth the option until a Raptor dedicated version comes out.

Mine hasn't arrived yet but I'll be towing my 2 UTVs on an aluminum trailer. My gen2 did fine after adding the +3 HD leafs, hoping this truck will work fine out the box.
Here's my current setup, way overkill for what's i'm towing.

I am buying a 2023 Polaris Ranger North Star premium, the spec sheet indicated dry weight of 2400 pounds. My 37 Gen 3 has an RSI Smart Cap installed. How did your Gen 3 handle towing two UTV,s? Also, did you perform any mods like airbags? Thanks!
