Yep that's the rub. You can add timbrens or eventually air bags or a heavier spring but you'll still legally be over the payload...if that matters to you.I've been planning on getting a new truck the first of 2022 and a Raptor is at the top of my list, but I do tow a boat quite a bit and looking at a new one of those as well. My concern isn't so much the trailer weight as much it is the pay load of ~1300 lbs. You add 500 to 600 lbs of tongue weight, ~700 lbs for me, my wife and 2 boys and then a 100 lbs, for hitch and tonneau cover. I can't put anything else in the truck without being over the limit.
Very nice Prospector XL. I considered going that route instead of back to a Raptor.Mine hasn't arrived yet but I'll be towing my 2 UTVs on an aluminum trailer. My gen2 did fine after adding the +3 HD leafs, hoping this truck will work fine out the box.
Here's my current setup, way overkill for what's i'm towing.

Don’t get a Raptor then If you tow a lot with a full cab. You’ll be overloaded. SimpleI more concerned about handling and durability.
