Just wondering if you found a good place to mount the hide a key box.

I like to hide one on my vehicles - just in case!

I know my code, and the master code. But, suppose we're out of town and misplace
the key?? Just looking for some suggestions, you don't have to post where you hid
yours! That would be silly.

Or, you could be facing a dead battery one day with the keys locked inside.

Get one of those locking hitchcover drawer thingys and put your key in there. Then you can worry about remembering yet another code.

:help:

Never used one myself but this might work. Granted it would be visible if someone looked around the truck. Personally I like the idea of a spare key but I always have my wife take the spare when we leave town as a backup. My keypad never let me down on my Lariat so I don't worry too much about it. My only other concern would be finding a place secure enough that you wouldn't lose it when driving off road. My own experience with the Raptor off road leaves me with no good locations I can think of that would be secure yet accessible.

Well damn, took me so long to link the safe, MMD beat me to it, Lol.

I was trying to figure out why it double linked and added a smiley when I used my phone.

Yeah, I had the hitchsafe on my Tundra. For the Raptor, there is no substitute for an extra ignition key when you are 500 miles away from civilization, (Big Bend Park area) and Ive lost my keys there before. So now, I carry spare keys to every vehicle on long trips.

On the Raptor I carry it in the cab somewhere. If the keyless entry doesnt work, its just like a fire.

"In case of Emergency, break glass." Or find a coat hanger and **** up your paint. Either way, its better to replace that tiny little sliding piece of glass than to walk 100 miles.
