Anyone had to have their trans rebuilt or replaced?

My brothers trans just puked yesterday.....trans fluid leaking everywhere!

Yeah, I remember Smgiles and I were going through trans replacement about the same time. Mine mainly would hard shift only when downshifting coming to a stop and would happen every time.

I can't remember what they did during the second visit after the replacement, I can pull the service record when I'm home but it helped for a while.

I’m about to the dealer call today the about the hard shifting in sport mode. Between 1-2 and 4-5 its absolutely horrible. And then downshifting 4-3-2-1.

For those with problems did it happen in all driving modes?

Yes in all modes but way more noticeable in sport mode. Not kidding I don’t think my truck has a 2nd gear it always skips it on the up shifts in any mode. And only goes into 2nd down shifting to first to a stop.

I have a strange popping noise and clunking when decelerating .. wonder if it's a trans issue. Happens primarily 20mph > and causes the truck to lurch slightly and intermittently. The best I could explain the noise is like large bubbles repeatedly popping under water coming from the rear of the cab.

I have lots of leaking and after 2nd round of fixing got a new pan installed keeping fingers crossed its fixed. I actually thought the hard shifts were normal for the 10 speed

The dealer said there was an update for the transmission today. Won’t be driving it until Friday. So I will see if it helps then.
