Anyone else notice significant fuel economy improvement after break in?

I got maybe (at max) a 1mpg bump. But I also started getting on the truck after that, so my overall average kind of went down some. Holding steady at 18mpg for 21k now. My best instances (road trips) balance out my offroad runs (or sport mode shenanigans).

Ok, now I have to check when I get in my truck tonight. I haven't looked at mpg in a while, but I make significant'y fewer fill ups than I did with my 2014 denali, but that had the 6.2L. I drive both like a jerk, so I'm surprised I'm not filling up more. :)

I’m hoping for an increase in MPG and power after break in. Quite honestly I’m disappointed so far and am regretting getting rid of my gen1.
Did you get an 18 or 19? I am loving my 19 coming from a stock 14. I know not everyone has been happy going Gen 1 to Gen 2. Was your Gen 1 heavily modded? Just curious why you are regretting so far.

Hope it gets better for you. My only real adjustment was to the sound and now It is fine. I like technology and new things so it has plenty of new stuff for me.

I am going to rally ready next weekend to test it out off-road, but based on how it is handling now, I would have to think it is an improvement.

I have a OBD reader with GPS that’s been tracking my fuel economy. Going to work (short distance), taking local roads, I get around 16.1. If I go highway (longer trips) it nearly doubles. Attached are screen shots of the readings based on trips.

Mine didn't improve appreciably after the first thousand miles. It is definitely sensitive to fuel octane and tire pressure though. 89 or 91 gets worse fuel economy than 93, and I've also lost about 1.5 mpg from lowering the rear tire pressure. Down at 30 because it's comfy but for the next long trip I'm airing them all back up to 42.

I am running about 40lbs. tire pressure....been buying 93 octane gas ...17.4 mpg....just around "town"..

2018...gen 2....3.5 ....20 guage...he he

I just got back from a trip and got to once again test Lucilles distance running. rain was prevalent for a bunch of the trip and when things cleared I got a chance to run I-64 in identical conditions minus the rain, possibly barometric pressure, but temps were equal. The only difference being before I ran the defroster pretty much constantly, after I had a little bit more... cargo... :) and I didn’t run the defroster. I gained almost a solid 1mpg on just not using the defroster / a/c. I got ~16.5 on the before, ~17.25 on the return, same stretch, 70-75mph indicated (mostly the 75).

I never noticed any sudden improvement or degradation the truck’s been consistently since day one.
