Anyone else have this tailgate cosmetic issue?

It was nice and uniformly black when I took deliver, however, 48 hours later, it's turned weirdly milky. My sneaking suspicion is the prep person may have applied spray wax by mistake.

Anyone else deal with this?

UPDATE: resolved and fixed by hitting it with a Mr. clean magic eraser and then some 303.

Looks like wax. I would try an alcohol based prep product to remove it, like what is used before applying ceramic coating.

A detailer did the same on my truck. Mr clean eraser fixed it
