Anyone else have fragile leather seats?

I noticed this, too. Seems like everybody who has used a product other than GJ's H-D conditioner or Zaino (love the stuff for car care, by the way) has problems.

sample size of what, 3-4 people who said they used something and are seeing their leather break in like normal?

Only one guy posted pics, and it's a far cry from what I'd call worn seats. So until a better definition is defined as to what is actually wear, the above is a pretty far cry of a correlation to make.

24,000 miles on my 2010 and still looking good. Just a dent from my pistol butt on the side bolster, no abrasion.

Maybe there is a connection between butt cracks and leather cracking. I am proud to admit that I am an *******, but my seats don't show it.

See my post Carjacker / Zombie Mod. This is my fix for the pistol problem.

Reptar I'm not trying to say definitively that's the problem. Just thinking out loud really. Although I do think if you use a cheap leather cleaner/conditioner it may do more harm than good.

mine is going in tomorrow for my "laundry list". i mentioned my leather cracking on the phone and the service guy quickly cut me off and said there's nothing they can do because it's normal wear and tear(keep in mind he hasn't SEEN my leather...but of course he felt it was ok to address my concerns over the phone).

As i went on with my list after each one he asked "YEAH, ANYTHING ELSE?", "IS THAT ALL??". The guy was a ******* ********** on the phone and I might have a small freakout at the dealership tomorrow if I don't get what i want.

i haven't asked for much, oh, AND when my heated seat burned out AGAIN, it burned a peanut size hole in the white underside of my leather. that might be my ace in the hole for getting a new seat.

I've read through this thread, and it's late and I'm too lazy to check it myself right now....but does anyone know whether or not the leather on the Raptor front seats is clear-coated? I know it (front seat leather) was in my 02 FX4 Lariat (and that made a difference in how you could clean/treat the seats), just haven't looked that closely at the Raptor seats.

I have used Lexol cleaner and conditioner in my current Jeep and previous Jeep SRT8 which had cheap leather. After 23k miles in the SRT the seats look like new compared to others with the same mileage. I also use it on my coffee tables that have leather tops and they look like new after 8 years.

naw...pretty sure i pissed them off. they looked at it for a day, said they had to order parts (window regulator, heated seat element pad, blend door driver side climate control).

they declined the replacement of the leather seat base, said it was normal wear and tear. i asked them for the # to Ford Customer service and called them.

Ford called the dealership and the service manager said the seat was fine. was supposed to hear back from the dealership on tuesday about the parts...i did not. was supposed to hear back from Ford by Weds at the latest about the seat...i did not.

kinda pissed but i know the dealership is giving me the silent treatment cause i called Ford CS.

oh....and they scratched the **** out of my paint when they washed my truck with their nasty ass brushes that they clean 100 cars a day with. i have a note in my service record that says DO NOT wash my truck after service.
