To put things in context, wife only likes large vehicles.

I have a 2021 fully optioned on order (10/4 club). We need another vehicle. My wife can take the loaded one and I kind of want to buy a bare bones one.

Anybody else buying a bare bones one? The base one seems to have most of the stuff I would use anyways based on the usage of my 2019 801a.

I thought about it but I want the 801a for the upgraded sound system and I think the remote start option is also included in that package which is the main one for me. Also might get the power package for the outlets in the bed but that's about it. I don't need 37's nor moonroof or tailgate step or anything.

Just fyi, there is one 400w outlet in the bed without the power package. I didn't realize this but was pleased to see it when I got my truck. I ordered just an 801a and beadlock Raptor and love it.

I tried but my dealer wouldn't since he was worried about me not taking delivery and having to sell it.

Remote start is standard in 800a.

If I could order a la carte, I'd get an 800a with Torsen and 37s. I'm hoping that Ford will lighten up on the 37s requiring a bunch of expensive crap I actively don't want in a year or two. If and when they do, I might jump. Otherwise, when MY2024 or so rolls around, I'll be looking at all of my options.

I did but just got the tow package for 360 camera (needed in my book). I came from a 2020 800a and it’s night and day difference in terms of features. I wanted to keep my purchase under $70k and ended up at $68.7k out the door.

At least from my experience, barebones Raptors might even hold their value better as a % than a fully loaded - auction / trade-in prices sometimes didn’t differentiate as much between 800a and 802a compared to original MSRP.

End goal is of course a Raptor R a few years from now.

I'm curious, why not just get an XLT then? Why a raptor? For the $20k in savings you could certainly spend 8k to get a lift and 35s and be left with 12k in your pocket. Or just get a tremor--problem solved.
