This post confused me at first. I thought it was odd you got offended at someone answering a question you asked. Then I noticed you're from Seattle and it all made sense.

64k sounds low for your market. I’d shop it around. I know 64k is low for my market and I’m in the Midwest…you should be much higher than that.

***Edited: I suppose I should ask what options your 2019 has? If it’s fully loaded then I believe the 64k is a low offer.***

All trucks are expensive right now, but 77k for a platinum F150 is just too much. My fully loaded 35” Gen 3 was ~78,900.

Obviously very different trucks but I have a 2019 raptor with 12,000 miles on it. Thinking of trading for a 2021 ford platinum with the new hybrid engine. Better for towing and improved tech(I have a 10,000lb boat I trailer occasionally around town) anyone else do this? Any regrets? Dealer is offering $64,000 for my truck and new one is $77,000. I like the styling of the raptor much better but I’m also doubtful these high used prices will last as 2022 start to arrive

The prices are going to last. Thanks to Brandon, the prices are gonna keep going up, new or used. Plus they still aren't making many chips, so nobody knows if the 22's will trickle out like the 21's, unless I missed something.

If it were me, I would get some air bags made up for the rear axle and "occasionally" tow your boat as needed. Make sure the trailer has good brakes and go. Tow rating are a thing for sure, but if you stop and take a look around while you're in traffic, you will see some super sketchy stuff dragged around by knuckle draggers, with overloaded trailers, lifted trucks with bald tires riding on the bumpstops.

Someone said 2/3rd's or something of tow rating is max, I would argue that tow ratings are probably 1/3 to 1/2 lower than the real number, to account for the knuckle draggers that I mentioned before.

Thanks yes I’m sure 64 is low so they can make a petty penny plus get nearly MSRP on the new truck (they offered 76 sale price). My raptor was fully loaded (802, all the graphics, carbon fiber, sunroof etc etc). I think I paid 69 on a 72 or 73 MSRP and with the sales tax deduction of 10% a 64 price nets me 70k which I figured was more like retail? The more I think about it I may just wait it out. Don’t need the truck at all until April when I get my Malibu out of winter storage. The new 2022 GMC Denali ultimate looks pretty sick and can tow 13,000 so maybe I go that way if used prices hold up. It’s actually more than my 2015 3/4 ton was rated at I think.

How is 64k to low for a 2019 if a 2021 GEN 3 us 79k?? I realize "many" do get GEN 3s for MSRP though i have never seen or met anyone who does.. all local dealers in MIAMI want 10-20K ABOVE MSRP

Your question answers itself, especially for your market. How could 64k not be too low if new trucks in your market are actually selling for $99k (20k above sticker)? We’re in a market that is charging (and paying) a premium for those that want their vehicle now.

In my zip, when I run “trade in” values I get an average value of $72k for a 2019 loaded Raptor super crew with 15,000 miles on it. I traded my Gen 2 in a few months ago with 15,000 miles for $70k towards a loaded Gen 3 at msrp. I also felt my trade-in value was somewhat low at the time. I’m in Indiana. I am assuming the coastal markets should be higher than my Midwest market for both resale and purchase.

The assumption seems to hold water if truly everyone around you is selling 10-20k above msrp. I would go on to assume that the West coast market is even higher than the market in Florida.

Everyone else answered the question from a towing perspective, I’m just answering from a value perspective. In my opinion, the value doesn’t seem to be there for specific deal that OP is discussing.

Ty for.taking the time on your thoughts. I agree 2019 at 64k is low.IF a gen 3 is 100k but iT APPEARS everyone can get gen 3 at MSRP FOR 80K(yea I am jealous)then I don't see how a 3 year old used truck should be 10k less than new gen 3. Lol
