Ill agree with you on that. Theres only so much a reviewer can provide over the course of a few hours to a few days. Watching "reviews" of this style (Im talking Throttle House style) are purely for entertainment purposes, as they only give you the high overview of what the car/truck is.I used to enjoy them but, 1. Too much schtick, and, 2. having been fortunate to have owned so many vehicles, including my now 3rd Gen2 as I await my Gen3, I just can't put much stock into reviewers who have cars for a day or two or even three.
There's a dude called Raiti's rides on Youtube. Lives in Florida. Nice enough guy. Always wearing shorts which, I don't know, maybe p i s s e s me off when it's freezing here in NY. He goes to dealers, goes over the vehicle, then drives it for a few miles and makes the same oohs and aahs every time. I never understand how thousands of suckers watch that crap.
To me its no diffrent than watching a review on Top Gear back in the day, you watch it for the jokes, the cinematography/production, and the reviewers personalities they inject into each video. Obviously Top Gear had a much higher budget to work with, but since they are not around anymore these channels fill that void for me.
Review channels from guys like Raiti, Doug Demuro, Ben Hardy and others are annoying to watch because its just a regurgitation of specs, stats and features. This review style is crap and is akin to the old Road and Track TV show or the Driving Television reviews on TSN (Canada) *barf*
I also watch savagegeese, their production value is great, the technical depth they get into is something no other channel does, and they call out a bad car when it is a bad car. They dont gush over everything.
