Completely re-engineering the frame to account for what a small percentage of users would face would adds significant cost that most buyers get no real value out of.

Disagree. A single piece or two piece frame rail would be less expensive to manufacture.

It really doesn't matter how beefy/ strong it's made, someone somewhere is gonna bend it just to find the limit of the truck. How many time have you sad "I don't know, let's find out" just to have it go wrong. They found the limit of the frame, next issue!

My mother always said "if it hurts when you do that, then don't do it."

Nice to disagree but, unless you are involved in the design, development and release of a vehicle you do not know what you are talking about

A one or two piece frame rail "should" be less costly to manufacture than a three piece frame rail, easy math.

We'll I'm not going to beat a dead horse here but I hope that deep down inside you understand that there has to be engineering before mancufacturing.

If you strengthen the weakest part of a frame, then another part now becomes the weakest which changes everything. What's legal to handle simply and easily in the aftermarket (i.e. manufacture and bolt on) is not legal for a manufacturer to do. Ford can't just start modifying the frame after they've done all the crash testing. They'd have to redo it all over again.

Let's say you stiffen up a "weak" spot in the frame on your own and get rear ended by a semi. Gas tank ruptures causing a fireball and you mame your entire family. If you made the modifications on your own, that's on you and you can decide if it's worth the risk to you and your family. Ford sure as hell isn't going to take on that liability.

Well, easy math dont work in the production of a vehicle... lol.. All those using easy math were fired in 2003 and 2006... Having been involved as much as I was I know from experience...

Tell that to the SVT engineers! Making the F150 frame less-modular to eliminate the middle/rear sleeve connection oughta be on the FoMoCo 'to do" list.

Any similarities to the misapplication of the current F150 frame in our Raptors?
