Found Raptor I want except it doesn't have a moonroof. Dealer said they could get one installed but not sure that is a good idea. What do you guys think?

I had one installed on my 11 and didn't have a problem with it.

That being said, Ford adds significant bracing to the roof for sunroofs in case of a rollover. You will not have this bracing with an aftermarket sunroof.

wondering the same thing. I ordered mine without. I would never use it... but I might just want it now ;)

Working at dealerships for 15 plus years ... I would never install an aftermarket roof... That's not to say others have had no problems but many have and it's not worth the headache if something were to go wrong especially after warranty ends.

Like big said, not a good idea. Just got pictures of another rolled raptor this week. Looks to be in pretty good shape. The one I saw with an aftermarket moon roof looked horrible for the speed it was going. Ford adds a lot for the stock moon roof.

I remember when I was looking for my SS, I was hell bent on having T-tops. It's nice to have them at first and all, but eventually they leak and lose their appeal. And you end up not using them as much as you initially thought you would. Plus, the added weight.. Needless to say, I specifically ordered my raptor without a moonroof and am happy as a bug.

Everybody always asks why I didn't get a sunroof on my $50,000+ truck?

Cause I didn't effing want one, that's why. Now getting the entire rear window to roll down...Different story.

As others have said ford adds significant bracing, so much so that that factory moonroof is tiny. I was shocked to see such a small moonroof when I picked up the truck. With an aftermarket, maybe you could get something bigger, but you will loose that structure and have a greater chance of it leaking as well.
