Would love to know everyone's thoughts on actual demand for this truck. It's obviously not a limited production vehicle, but it seems like every dealer is having a hard time getting their hands on more allocations.

I got screwed by my local dealer (see the dealerblacklist thread for full detail) and have been on the hunt for an MSRP order since with no luck. Every MSRP dealer I call (and yes, I'm not being lazy, I've called over 50 across the country) says that their list is anywhere from 20-40 people long. Are there that many people that want this truck or is this a result of people who have put their name with deposit at multiple dealers to see which horse comes in first? Just seems pretty crazy as I'm willing to fly to almost anywhere in the lower 48 and roadtrip the truck home, yet many seemingly remote dealers I've called across the country all have insanely long waiting lists.

Anyone out there have any leads on available allocations at MSRP?

With the limited allocations, any dealer with allocations left is probably wanting over MSRP. Most people who got MSRP or less ordered early before the dealers knew what the actual demand was. I ordered on 8/3 from a dealer that was asking $3k ADM and negotiated back to MSRP. I have a friend who went to the same dealer last week and was told that they do not have any allocations left but they would hold his order for the next group for $5k ADM. I wish you luck but you may have to find a dealer who will place your order for the next group. You may be able to get below MSRP even.

A list of 20-40 people usually only has 5 or maybe 10 real buyers on it. There are probably some buyers who are on multiple lists, but generally speaking being on a list doesn't mean the buyer will come up with the money.

It's probably a little late if you want an early delivery and don't want to pay more than sticker. With more work you could still luck into one, but order banks have been open for awhile now.

It's going to be a popular vehicle throughout its production. Eventually they will sit on lots like anything else, but people really like the Raptor.

I agree. Have already seen the list shrink at my local dealer. They don't require deposits (at least not that I know of), so easy to get on their list. He also said that he thinks several will drop out once they know they sell at MSRP vs. when they sold the the Gen 1 at Invoice. But reading here on the forums - MSRP is a bargain apparently for early buyers.

Off the wall question - but since my dealer says it will likely be MY '18 before my number comes up - when would that be? May/June time frame for order guide?

I think the demand will go even higher once a few 2017'***** the dealer and are on the road.
Guess it comes down to how many is Ford going to really make?
I only wonder what prices are going to do on Gen1 Raptors?

This year the changeover to MY17 happened in late September/Early October (whey the started actually building the MY17 trucks). I do believe that historically it tends to usually happen closer to August-September for F-150s though. Of course, the Order Guide and other documents will precede that by a month or two.

I was curious about trading my '14 and spoke with Bill Colwell Ford in Hudson IA last week (319)988-4153. He said they had 3 allocations and 1 was pre-sold with deposit. He also stated they are selling at MSRP, no additional markup.

The new F150s used to always hit the lots in August/September. But that changed with the 13th gen F150s because they closed the factory down to re-tool for the aluminum body trucks and they have been lagging behind ever since. :perkinswhatever:
