I cant think of any reason either at highway speeds.
But I definitely can see it usefull not having the lights shut off at 6 mph.
I think that setting of only 5 mph is too slow. 20 mph would be better IMO.

I've had the spots-on-demand mod done for awhile and it's one of my favorite free mods. I wish there was a way to be able to turn on the puddle lights on demand, but I haven't found one yet.

Run a lead from an up fitter switch.

It would be nice to get the camera on in various modes while driving. I think Nav TV makes an adapter for this. But it’s like $350.00-$400.00, so not sure if it’s worth it

Agreed.

The annoying issue i've discovered is that even when pulling up to my mailbox, I cannot turn either light on even after the vehicle is stopped for at least 3-5 seconds. I'm stopped and hitting the spot light button, and finally after 5 seconds or so of being stopped, it finally turns on. Extremely annoying. I will be doing this mod/hack to both my rigs tonight. :D

Just wanted to give an update as I was able to get this completed this weekend on my '18 Raptor.

I used the YT link above as it doesn't modify the module, just the wiring:

However, I did not remove the module, just the 2 wiring harnesses from it and proceeded to pull the gray wire and jump the connector. Getting the black connector off was easy. There is the push tab at the top and it slid out rather easy. The green connector though, was a pain. Even in the video, you can see it's not as easy as the black one. There is a tab at the top of the green connector and while pushing that down I was able to use a larger screwdriver to push it out. Be careful to not stab your hand. There may or may not have been a close call with that.

I'm not sure how others got the gray wire out as it was the biggest pain in the A$$! I finally ended up using the tip of my electrical tester pushed through the back end of the connector until it pushed the wire tip through the front of the connector and then was able to pull it most the way through the front, spin it so that it would exit the back while pulling on the wire itself. Wrapped it with electrical tape and used a 3 inch piece of wire stripped about one inch on both ends for the jumper wire. I got the jumper all pushed in tight, put the white piece from the front of the connector back on and plugged it back in. Success!

Thanks again to everyone that worked this issue out!

The one downside to this mod is if you forget to turn the lights off, the battery would drain... other than that this is a great mod and works great.

I went this route and soldered the circuit board and removed the gray wire pin.

This Video method works just fine too. It shows you more in depth how to remove the gray pin from the harness without damaging anything. I couldn’t figure it out without forcing it.

Is there any way so that they'll turn on and off automatically ?
