When I check my fuel mileage the old way, miles driven/gallons of fuel. It is always about one mpg lower than what the computer read-out states. Any one else check their mileage that way?

You can calibrate the gauge to read accurately, by setting a multiplier on the displayed value using "Engineering Test Mode":

After testing with gas used per mile vs the computer, I set mine to 941, i.e., my truck gets 94.1% of the original mileage. It tends to be within 3% accurate now, plus or minus.

I have checked my mileage at fill up too, and it usually runs about 1 mpg below the dash readout.

I track my MPG using an (iOS) app called Fuelly.. it is generally 1.5mpg less that the dash calculator.. I saw a post on here some time ago but am missing it as I look right now that you can adjust that with the right procedure...

i guess not many poeple realized the thread post was mph..... not mpg.... just exploiting the typo with a ******* comment.....
Lmao I didn’t notice that when following the thread. I did notice your first comment and thought it meant you drove very cautiously.

I average about 17.6 the from DFW in Texas to the Central Valley area in California. About 1700 miles at 17.6 mpg with the ac on the entire time and keeping to the speed limit with cruise control. Hit standstill traffic for about 2 hours though.

@BroncoAZ Drove through flagstaff and stayed the night on my return trip from purchasing the raptor. I thought it was such a lovely area. My parents are considering relocating there from California and I had nothing but good things to tell them. Granted I was only there for about a day.

I do. My Mustang always lies to me. I enter the data into Fuelly to track it.
