You will most certainly get more by selling them... craigslist, ebay, etc... lots of ways to unload. Be aware it is a buyer's market right now though... tons of stuff out there for sale.

Detail and take the most flattering pictures possible if you go the private sale route. It's amazing how many people post dirty items... which just gives the potential buyer leverage.

Good luck!

Try taking the bike to a motorcycle dealer. I sell bikes to dealers all the time. They are in a much better position to know what the bike is valued at and have the ability to sell it after they buy it. A lot of dealers will sell it on consignment for you too if their offer isn't as much as you wanted.

Trade-in is the easiest way to buy a vehicle -- but it costs money for this convenience.

Ordering a new Raptor makes selling your old vehicle(s) much easier because the order time runs 60-90 days and if your old vehicle is priced competitively, this is more than enough time to find a buyer and make the sale.

If the Raptor purchase is contingent on the funds from your sale and you are unable to sell the car, the dealer will be more than happy to keep the Raptor and add it to his sales inventory (and mark-it up significantly). Because of this, the dealership will usually not push for a substantial downpymt so give them a couple hundred dollars and spin the wheel. Another last-ditch contingency would be to make a deal using your (unsold) trade-in, although it would probably be pricey at that point.

I used to always trade-in my autos for the new one, figuring life is short and I don't need to take the last nickel off the table. However, once I figured-out the true difference, that was the end of that practice. I usually buy duallys so the money involved was very worth the (little) work required on my part. As it turns-out, the selling process is usually pleasurable and the buyer is always excited to be buying a good used car. Win/win.

Yes, you will more than likely get a higher "price" for the item by selling it yourself. But the OP is located in WA, and would pay sales tax on the difference between trade-in value(s) and purchase price. Meaning, getting a $7000 trade in value, would have close to a $7630 total value (sales tax is 9%+ nowadays I think). So the question becomes if can I get 10% more by selling it myself and how much of a hassle will it be.

Well it's all done!

What a fun ordeal it has been...

Not the '13 or a '14 ended up with a brand new '12. So I lost it on the HIDs and the "new" console and it has a whoping 700 miles(800 by the time I got home), but I got one HELLOVA deal, even Chuck would be proud!
