I'm patiently waiting for RPGs new low-pro bed cage set up! Unless Kirk wants to start making his bad ass racks again then I'd have to go with his and say **** using the bed for anything big haha

I'm already in for icons up front so It'd be a bit weird to go anything diff in the back.

Well when it’s time to upgrade I’ll be ditching the icons, I like sdhq’s long travel front kit, I think it’s more mid travel that’s just me but still nice since it can be returned to stock if need be. Maybe sdhq will chime in and let us know if it will work with the ICON 3.0 coil-overs instead of the 2.5 it comes with, I don’t think it will because of the wheel travel. Plus everyone says they have a new kit coming out you will see something in the next 2weeks, 2weeks have come and gone and I’m still waiting.

Mid Travel / Long Travel = ?? I have asked many this question being on the side of the fence I am on selling the product to customer, and have yet to get a quality answer besides fumbling when asked. "Long travel" to me is any thing longer then stock, maybe I am just crazy though.

As far as the 2.5" vs. 3.0" coil over in their kit, this is much different when when you have a secondary shock installed. The coil over is only there to hold up the truck and have enough valving to stabilize the truck at slow speeds. The secondary 3.0 bypass is what will do the damping in this application. The 3.0 coil over in the standard Raptor set up is used because in that situation it's all you have, so you need the bigger shock to do all the work. On anything besides some Class one cars, and a TT applications their is just no reason for the 3.0 C/O. (I realize everyone has an opinion) As mentioned before I have spent time as a co driver in a TT that was 5400lbs race ready and ran 2.5" C/O's and 3.5" bypass shocks with no issue at all. (Best notable finish 2nd TT Vegas to Reno). Feel free to message Todd @ Fox for validation on how this truck worked through the rough. Over all set up is key, and only a select few of the Extreme built Raptor's will ever lean this direction of use IMO. The ICON shock set up SDHQ went with on their kit is a great set up, and will def do any job you throw at it. How ever you choose to go, you will definitely not be let down by going with this kit.

Your Crazy. lol

I would consider any thing in the high teens a long IE 18”-19” on up, I would not consider anything longer than stock a long travel then we would have to throw the truck with Ranchos and a 4in lift in there. Sorry do bring in the ranchos in that’s going to bring a lot of backlash from the die hard. I also think a lot of shocks are created almost equal with close to equal it all depends on the individual that tuned them for your setup. The number one reason I went with the icons is user friendly tuning for *******’s like me.:imo:

Thanks for the info ICON always good to find out every bit of information before you go with a kit.

You also have to keep in mind that some shops advertise metal to metal travel numbers and some shops advertise bumped and strapped numbers...where the travel is useable and isn't going to damage other front end components. Our advertised 16.5" of travel is with axles and is bumped and strapped.

For the rear I'm waiting to see who steps up and makes the next kit, ADD has the only bed cage one so far (meaning i can go on their website and order it and have it sent to my home so i can install it myself) I really want to see what RPG shows up with. I would say give it another year or two and every one will have some type of bed cage option and maybe some spring under kits. If you can get to their shops the sky is the limit for what they can do as long as you have deep pockets.

Ya for sure lift kits were not under consideration in my comment, most do not add overall wheel travel. More of what you said was what it was based off so my question still to be asked is: What to you makes 18-19" of travel justify the "long travel" term? Asking for my own knowledge as to what the Raptor enthusiast feels. People have said in my past experience (other vehicle makes) if it is +3" over stock arms then your mid travel and +6 over stock it is long travel for example. The Raptor comes from the factory with longer than stock arms vs the other F-150 chassis counter part, and if someone makes a kit that gains multiple inches of travel over its stock configuration to me that is a long travel kit. A vehicles suspension that has a longer travel than stock, that is where I see it anyway. We certainly all have an opinion for sure so back to the subject I do believe their kit will perform in a quality manor with the easy to tune features you mentioned. Our shocks certainly have features that makes tuning fast and easy to perform. SDHQ will take good care of you if choosing to use that setup in the future, good luck which ever way you go!
