Maybe a dumb question, maybe not, I dunno or I wouldn't be asking it. What's the baddest rear suspension setup you can go with, without losing the functionality of your bed. Is it done at 3.0's with reinforcements, leafs, and bumps, or is there something between that and a cutting up your bed and caging things? Thanks for indulging my curiosity.

Im running a Cantilever from SDHQ and I've been very impressed by its performance. Its a great way to get travel comparable to a bed cage set up without sacrificing space.

I'm not doing anything anytime soon, but I don't like the idea of wrecking the utility of my trucks bed in order to get some more speed offroad. I understand the need for safety equipment, but you'd be perfectly fine caging out your cab and harnessing up, this would not require a bedcage ( suppose I should have clarified in the original post that I was referring to bedcages specifically ). Jake Y, I've seen the cantilever setup on their website but am not quite certain how it works, is there anything out there that shows its operation?

I was not trying to be insulting, just stating that once you upgrade the suspension. You are able to easily reach speeds that require safety equipment and not realize it..

Understood Greg and I wasn't insulted in fact I agree completely. I'm playing build your ideal raptor in my head right now and I decided that even on my dream raptor I wouldn't want to lose my bed. It would kill the whole reason for me to even have a truck.

RPG has a new item coming out that increases rear travel without taking up half your bed. I'm def thinking about pulling the trigger on that one. First is a safety cage. Not only for protection in the event of a roll over but also for proper harness mounts. After driving Corey's truck around for the weekend I have fallen in love with the harnesses and safety cage he has!!

Honestly you can get into that territory with the stock suspension quite easily. It's just that nobody (myself included) thinks about the safety mods before the performance ones because the performance mods are way more fun.

A cage is on my radar, before I spend money on shocks. Neither will be real soon. Gotta get my wife a vehicle before I cage mine.

I'm interested to see the rear setup that RPG is coming out with. Being a late adopter is at least giving me more options!
