Stopped by my dealer today. Had them do a quick look into their system for the TSB, they read through it and validated it (even though i could explain it to them verbatim at that point). They got in the truck and after about 30 seconds, came back in and verified they would order my new driveshaft. Mine was barely noticeable but the tech said he doesn't know how i dealt with it for the last 4,000 miles. I am very happy with how extremely easy this was. Thanks to everyone that posted about the TSB, cause you really are helping the entire Raptor community.

Crossing my fingers...New drive shaft will be installed tomorrow morning. I'd do it today but, I just don't have the time.

The new driveshaft is in and the clunk is gone. Hope it stays that way.:peace:

Well????? I have noticed a few ass hikings and some what feels like binding in mine. Nothing I am gonna worry about. It ain't clunkin so I am happy! Bet the tech failed to lube the new one. Its like you take off and then you feel the ass end settle.

I noticed the same. As long as it doesn't feel like someone kicking me in the ass or sounding like my wheel is falling off I'm cool. I mean who cares if the driveshaft falls out. At least I won't feel it!

When my Tech installed mine he was going to lube it but showed me that it came already lubed right out of the box. A nice pretty Ford blue lube so you should be good as far as the lube goes.

Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, I am clunk free at last! Had the most pleasant drive in recent memory on the way to the office after getting the new shaft installed around 8:45am. Truck was out in about an hour. The rear end settles smoothly and without the annoying clunk or chirp I always heard at traffic lights or whenever the rear end would squat with the drivetrain under load. Of course, the truck was like that the first week I had it and for two weeks after lubing the slip yoke before this problem came back with a vengeance. We'll see how she rides in another few weeks or couple thousand miles.

Easiest repair ever with amazing results!!

Mine clunked from the start and only got worse. (5,800 miles or so) Brought it in yesterday to have the new driveshaft/slip yoke installed. [which the dealer ordered after nothing but a phone call where I gave them the TSB number, they pulled it up, asked if I had a SCAB or SCREW and ordered the part, called me when it was in, I said I'd call when I had time to get up there, called on my way and asked if there would be any problem working me into their schedule today, "no problem, come on up"]

I am blown away! Like a whole different truck. I realize now that the looseness feeling and clunk was not just upon starting and stopping...but over bumps, rough gravel roads, etc....it was loosey goosey all the time. Seems like now it even accelerates better because you don't wait to feel the ass end catch before you take off. Really weird how screwed up it was before.

I think I'll get it in the can tonight to celebrate my tight new ass end!
