Hey Bdrag, from start to finish how did you approach the service dept about your clunk issue. I am going to be bringing my truck in soon and need to be prepared. I know it will make me sound like a fool but what the hell does TSB stand for? LoL. Thanks ahead of time and yes my truck too has the clunk and was born may of 2010 so I believe I fall inside the peramiters of who on paper should have the clunk.

I'm going in for my preliminary TSB assessment tomorrow: The dealership will "verify the qualifying need" and then (hopefully) order the new improved driveshaft. I'll play their game as long as they come though with the fix!

WAIT.. You have the clunk HMan??

Hey Bdrag, from start to finish how did you approach the service dept about your clunk issue. /QUOTE]

I printed the TSB off the FRF forum / this forum, went by the dealer and told the service writer that my truck has had the clunk issue since it was new and that I am a forum member here and that there are several Ford techs that are members here. I told him that they were aware of the clunk and mentioned the old LUBE IT fix that Ford tried at first. He said he knew of the issue with some trucks and that the LUBE IT fix was what I needed.

I then said according to the forum techs and members that Ford has stopped the LUBE IT because its not fixing the Raptors issues. Ford will NOT PAY for the dealer to LUBE IT! He raised an eyebrow and said REALLY? I then showed him the 36 hour old TSB I had printed. He actually read it. Said he wanted to show it to his trans man. He was gone a few minutes and returned and said give me the keys. I did and he drove it back to the tech and 5 minutes later I had an answer.

He told me that YES I have the clunk. NO SHIT? HAHahhaaaaa. He said they could not find the NEW PART NUMBER in their computer and said he would get it ordered but did not know just how long it would take to get the new drive shaft in. Wow, he must have actually read DRIVE SHAFT someplace! HAhahaaaaa. I said, order it and call me when it comes in weather its a week, month or whenever. I wanted it fixed. He promised he would get it done asap for me. That was Friday afternoon at 5:00pm. I got the call that the new shaft was there on Wednesday. COOL!

So let them know that you are not freaking out over the noise and that you know its not gonna be anything catastrofic but that you want it fixed right the first time. Give them a chance to check it out with Ford and see for themselves. Most or many lets say forums have many members in lala land and many dealers of all kinds be it motorcycle or trucks or cars hear the word forum and imediatly shut down the listening feature of their brain. I have seen it first hand when a nut job has read this or that and they are so far outr in left field but hey, its on the internet so its true! HAHahaaaaaaa.

Did anyone with a 2010 get their clunk fixed? This TSB only applies to 2011s.
