93 or 87 and why?

Ethanol free is small engines and hot rods the way to go. We use Torco octane boost with 89 ethanol free and it performs great. Not good for a daily driver.

Here's a report that Car and Driver did. It's not the HO 3.5 but close enough....

That is the high output. Ford is putting the raptor motor in limited's.

I've never ran 87. Always 93 so I cant comment on difference. I know my average mileage purchase date to now is 15.6 though. And my old EcoBoost with 34 inch tires got 12. I'm good with that comparison. Lol

Ethanol free gas isn’t always too common to come across these days. I also know pure gas is better for many reasons. Only easy access to ethanol free is from WaWa where I’m at and it’s only 89. Give or take close to price of premium 93. So 93 octane is the better choice for a turbo motor.

I recently discovered 110 unleaded race gas at a local Conoco. I decided to do an experiment, and put $244 of 110 in my 2019’s tank. Driving on US 2 from Libby to Kalispell Montana (a mountain road with the cruise control set at 75mph passing several slower vehicles) instead of the usual 14.2mpg my Raptor did 17.9mpg. Around town it still gets 17.7mpg. The performance seems better but it is difficult to quantify by the seat of the pants. Next I’m going to try a 91 and 93 tune and see what happens.

It’s awesome that it’s advertised there.

In the Midwest (IL - aka Californistan Jr. ) it’s only made apparent by the absence of a “10% Ethanol” sticker on top of the octane rating.

With 20% 91 already in the tank, the 80% 110 probably yielded ~106 octane. Too much to be of real use with a 100% stock Raptor. It is probably my imagination, but it looked like the turbo gauge was near/at 20 sooner and longer. I am going to try mixing 30% 110 with 70% 91 to yield 97 octane gas and see what it does along with an appropriate custom tune. That I could probably manage with several 5 gallon fuel jugs of 110 at home.

I hope all you guys running 93 are using ethanol free gas.

it would be silly not to with the performance gain that ethanol free gas offers.

Hate the ethanol gas, but very hard to find gas without it. Here in the midwest, they are allowed to blend up to 10% ethanol. They do that in winter time as e gas is a little more stable.

So in winter, you see a drop in performance and MPG with winter blend e gas........November to march is when this happens
