I get that, but it doesn't explain why 87 is twice as much in one state.

They add taxes to fuel prices for different reason. Here the tax per gallon is high to pay for roads and light rail. But our roads are trash. We also don't have a state income tax, which in part is why we have a high sales tax.

Without high gas prices there is no EV. Gotta make it look like EV is the only way. Hard to do that if it's $2.00 at the pump.
When I'm in Cali I only run E85. Last time I was there 93 was almost $6.00 but E85 was $3.50ish
