If Ford simply shoehorns a SuperDuty V8 in the Raptor that is heavier, thirstier, and comes with less HP/torque than the V6TT, I wonder how popular it would be?

3.5 EcoBoost already outsells the V8 in F-150 lineup and would probably do the same in the Raptor if the V6TT was the more powerful motor. But at least it would be something for the V8-or-die crowd and wouldn't cost Ford much to do.

If the V8 comes with a supercharger, it would probably be at least a $10k engine option and that would negate any resale hit V6TT owners feel.

I doubt a newly developed 7.0 DOHC, dual injected V8 is going to be less powerful that the current V6TT, at least not if they decide to put it in the Raptor.

Agree. For reference, the LS7 was putting out 505 horsepower in 2006. With one cam.

I dont care if they do or they dont.

I couldn't be happier with my new 18'

Literally better than my old gen 1 14' raptor in every single way except the exhaust sound and honestly I dont really care about that.

7.0 is being designed for work trucks, not the Raptor. If it ends up as an option in the Raptor, it will largely be an afterthought and little more than a concession to the V8-or-die crowd. Don't expect Ford to put much, if any, R&D money into customizing it for the Raptor.

I don't know if you're delusional, drunk or both. If Ford bothers to put this into the Raptor, it will absolutely be making more power than the V6TT. They aren't going to go through the trouble of making it an option to make it less powerful, less efficient, heavier and more expensive. That's so ass backwards I'm shocked anyone would be foolish enough to even suggest it.

You're not doing a very good job of reading your thread. The 7.0 is being designed for the SuperDuty, not the Raptor. It might end up in the Raptor to appease the V8-or-die crowd, but it most definitely is not being designed for the Raptor. Expect torque and reliability to be far larger design considerations than HP. And as many have pointed out, it will likely have an iron block to make it even more reliable and less expensive.

Nobody "knows" what the 7.0 is going to be used for. Again, if you think they're going to make this a lower performance option in the Raptor, you're delusional, drunk or both.

It may not ever make it into the Raptor, but if it does, it certainly won't me a higher cost/lower performance option like you're suggesting. That makes zero sense and should make zero sense to you as well.
