poor gas mileage

well, that's obvious with a 6.2L, but I'm getting even worse fuel history readings than most on the forums. I've had my Raptor for 2 weeks. It started out 9.7 MPG. I've been driving it mildly and have slowly increased it to 11MPG (mostly highway and suburban driving - no city driving).

I thought I read on one of the posts (can't find it now) that they had the dealer replace a bunch of stuff, but ultimately thought it was the fuel pump.

Any thoughts?

I found running premium helped increase by over 1MPG... The difference in mileage more than makes up for the price difference of 20 cents per gallon extra...

Are you running regular or premium?

It's been getting cold now and I started using Remote Start for 5 minutes before jumping in.
Now it's down to 6.9 mpg from 12 in about a month all city driving, 93 Octane

For hyper-mileage purposes (can't figure why anyone would buy a Raptor with that in mind though), it is my instant mileage observation that about 45mph on level road seems to make the greatest mpg.

Saw an instant mpg drop after running at 65mph and increasing to 70mph (too much frontal surface area).

Currently, on winter blend 93 octane, I'm getting 13.8mpg, a drop from 14.4mpg on summer blend 93 octane. (computer instant mileage observations).

Note: after every aggressive driving trek, I reset the instant mileage gauge.
