I try and only run non Ethanol in my work boats.

When E came to TN I used up 10 pump balls on my outboard motors the first summer.
The motors would run like shit and if they sat for more than a few days the carbs would be shot and the fuel lines melted. When you take apart a outboard carb and look at the needles the rubber tip will be eaten away and the fuel just keeps flowing and fills the motor.
This also happend to me with my Johndeer zero turn.

On another note about a year ago I got a new 900.00 Stihl chainsaw. The dealer flat out told me if they test the fuel and find Ethanol they would not Warranty the saw. Hum???

I also raced offshore a few years ago and I still keep in touch with some of the guys I raced with. One of them told me he had burnt up 6 1000.00 Aeromotive fuel pumps in just a few weeks of pre season testing this past spring. He said after a long talk with Merc/Lake X it was pump gas Ethanol. Now he drives about 20 mins out of his way to get 100% gas and has not had a problem since.

Blame the politicians, and their corn subsidies for this mess. Had to do something to keep those farmers paid, might as well convert corn to ethanol and mix it in our gas.

There shouldn't be any differences in vehicles.

On my sled I have to switch out a chip if I run gas with ethanol.

Thankfully mine actually has the option. On most sleds it's "run premium non ethanol or you will run j to problems."

Takes a few horses off but it's not noticeable.

This ethanol in gas is confusing.
In Florida, our pumps say "up to 10% ethanol". I read the English and interpret that to mean anywhere between 0% and 10% ethanol. I don't assume it means 10% ethanol, but maybe it does.

We have a station that offers 89 octane ethanol-free that is near my work. The first month I had my Raptor I would mix 93 octane with equal parts of 89 ethanol-free gas.
It was probably about 5% ethanol - no problems noticed.

I run non-ethanol in my 2011 6.2L. At over 13K miles, no issues. Have run E10 on trips where I can't get non-ethanol, and the non-ethanol seems to get on the order of 0.5 mpg better. Have not noticed a difference in power, but then I wouldn't in normal/legal highway and in-town driving.
