Is it bad that I powered coated mine red to go with the truck?

Yes, that's bad. LOL. You did the wrinkle powder. Good on ya.

I've seen other colors other than Ford Racing Blue. There has been orange and white. It just so happens, my truck is blue.

Did you actually find a set of the discontinued blue valve covers or did you powder coat the stock covers? I believe 2010-2011 trucks came with factory aluminum covers and later trucks got the cheesy plastic ones. I couldn't stand the plastic ones on my 2013 so when my truck went in for a whipple I added a set of the ford racing orange covers. These were pretty hard to find. I couldn't find any of the blue ones despite trying many sources.

I know this is a super old thread but recently I purchased 2011 valve covers for my 2013. Question for anyone: the 2011 valve covers fit the 2013 engine no problem, the steering knuckle seems to be in the way though. Has anyone done this swap and was there anything extra had to be done to make them fit and not hit the steering knuckle? Was the engine in this pictured raptor lowered any to accommodate for the taller valve covers? Thanks in advance to all who respond.

On my 2014 the steering knuckle is about 2 inches away from the left side aluminum cam cover. Can't imagine the '13's are any different.

Show us a picture.
